Watch Dogs, assumiing the wiiU can do it justice. Im not doubting that the U has got power behind it, but have you seen the demo trailer thingy for this game?!? all the different fx and stuff going on?! hopefully the U can do all that stuff.

Have we actually seen any actual WIIU footage of this game yet? seen loads of trailers clips etc, but wants to see actual wiiu gameplay footage, its meant to be the best version after all, or something like that?

Was in my local Game store today and saw on the top row of the wiiu games display, 4 game boxes for Aliens Colonial Marines! I almost got excited until I noticed the coming soon sticker on them!

I have just ordered the Limited Edition from Zavii for £45

Am i going mad or does the limited edition version have a later release date than the standard edition on the zavii site? Is that normal?

Also, just preordered the limited editon from tesco site using code TD-PRGM to get 5 quid off the price! 34 pounds instead of 39 isn't to be sniffed at!

I remember seeing avp on the Atari jaguar, made me go out n buy one, the console sucked but that game rocked! hope colonial marines is as tense, trouble is hands on previews of the single player part I've read have not been too positive Though?

I jjust wondered if there were any videos out there of actual wiiu gameplay for this game, all i seem to be able to find are the same old trailers as the other versions, was curious to see how the U version stacked up against the others? i know the dev said it would be the best, but wanna see it. i realise it ain't out yet but must be some gameplay in game stuff out there on t'net somewhere?

oh yeah, i forgot about that, ya never know, might show some new footage of it perhaps? other than Nintys own titles thats gotta be a biggie for the U.

Over the MANY years ive been gaming (i remember when all this was just trees lol) i've owned pretty much every console out there, minus the 3DO) my faves being, in no particular order,
snes
jaguar (AvP yeah, baby!)
amiga cd32
dreamcast
playstation 1 and 2
xbox
xbox360
n64
gamecube

and i still have a soft spot for the philips CD-I, it was crap but i still enjoyed some of the titles i had for it.

what a daft way to register the wii u. lol, im only saying that coz i think i just linked my shop account to the wrong club nintendo account (DOH! :wacko:

), i've got 2 accounts, an old one i 've hardly ever used coz i forgot the login details for it (only had about 100 or so points on it) and my proper new one (with 3500 points on it), unfortunately THIS TIME i remembered the log in info for the old one NOT the new one! :blink:

how or why i don't know, so i guess i've missed out on those points now?

Ha! first time i played zombie u (its finally arrived woohoo!!) i had my wiiu set to surround and the game set to external speaker setting (or whatever its called) and i got the music and fx only, no voices just music and fx?!? very odd, once i changed to stereo on the U everyhing was fine.

Nice work. Just have one thing to add. Its performance compared to xenon varies depending on what you are measuring.

Sure enough if you are looking at flops or simd, whetstones performance, its not up to snuff compared to 360 (then again neither is durango) If you are talking dhrystones, gl gamecode, ai, tricky branchy stuff, espresso mauls xenon like a polar bear mauls a baby seal wrapped in bacon.

I think Watchdogs will be a good example of just how the wiiu stacks up graphically against other consoles, as its being released on pretty much everything ( wiiu ,360 and 720 , ps3 & 4 ). Once the usual batch of graphics comparison vids (360 vs ps3 type of thing) are released after the games launch we'll have our answer. Assuming the wiiu version is built specifically for the wiiu from the ground up and not just a 360 port or whatever.

I bought mine soley for ZombiU, once i finish that, the U will just sit there until something else appears that i like the look of, maybe i'll download and play some classic snes or n64 games from the eshop, but other than that it'll just sit there. But i wouldn't sell it! that way madness lies! cancelling your pre ordered U i can understand, why buy something you wont use just yet? but sell it days after buying it?!? WHAAAAAA???

The issue is why are people comparing the Wii U to the PS3/X360, they should be comparing it to the PS4/X720 & the game engines that will run on those.

Nintendo MUST of known of the probably issues that could be caused by this CPU, so the actual question is why did Nintendo design the Wii U like this because for a small extra outlay on a more powerful CPU now it would have paid dividends in the long-term & maybe of extended the Wii U's life by a year or two.

Agreed. surely they must have tested the machine, in different configurations, whilst developing it? or possibly looked at what microsoft and sony had done in the 360 and ps3? saying that Ninty must know how to make consoles, they've been doing it long enough? they must know that one weak component can cause all sorts of woe to a system? but i suppose until we know what the actual specs are for the cpu etc, we don't know quite how weak it is / isn't?

Thats more like it! that review has put my mind at ease, what with that one and the Gamesmaster review, i can't wait to play it now! was strting to get a bit worried after seeing the lowish scores it had been getting from some places, but i've always trusted Gamesmaster mag so with thier review and now eurogamers, nuff said, bring on the 30th!!

The X720 & PS4 will be more powerful than the Wii U that is a FACT, both Sony & Xbox will make sure of this, the question is what will the developers do with the power.

For sure the 720 n ps4 will be more powerful they'd be mad not to be! and Devs will do what they always do with new powerful tech, make games that are bigger shinier spanglier faster...erm..stronger( eh? - the voice in my head) maybe not all that different gameplay wise from what we got now to begin with (depending on what sort of controllers etc the ps4 n 720 have of course) but a couple of years down the line they'll give us stuff that makes you go "oooh different".
