#317142 Xenoblade Chronicles X - Costume changes for Western Release + Discussion

Posted by storabajskorven on 03 November 2015 - 01:03 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Sex and sexy characters in games is positive in general, unless it's out of context. Having your characters run around half naked while trying to fight aliens really destroys the mood and feeling of a game. So this is definitely an improvement.

Super Metroid

So, you're a cat running around in the Forsaken Fortress from Wind Waker, fighting clones of Raphael the Ninja Turtle. Interesting...

#316139 New Devils Third footage

Action games stand or fall with the gameplay mechanics. This looks a bit too simplistic to me, but it might be good.

#315976 No Devils Third in North America it seems

According to Siliconera it will be published in the USA by another publisher. Makes sense.

I would have understood if there were already tons of games in this genre for the Wii U. Now I don't.

#315522 Positive reaction by 3rd parties to NX

Posted by storabajskorven on 28 June 2015 - 03:28 PM in General Gaming

Yep, things looked very good back then. More adult rated games at launch, some of the ports being best on Wii U and constant 3rd party support was looking good.

Nintendo must realise their systems should be targeted towards an older market now. 90's and early 00's was different, gamers were mostly kids and i still don't think Nintendo have adapted to modern ways.

Humans are adults more of their life than kids right, so that should be your target audience for the most part. Get 3rd parties back, do your own thing and have a slice of the pie Sony and MS have been eating for over a decade now.

Almost no big game publishers are making games for adults. Most games are targeted towards 15-18 year-olds since that's where the money is, or at least has been. I think the first advertising for the Wii U, with the non-specific action hero, is the first video game advert I've seen targeted towards adults. So maybe they had an idea to start selling video games for adults, since it's an unexplored market. Don't know what happened with that.

#315227 Yoshi's Wooly World reviews - GameSpot give 6/10

Posted by storabajskorven on 22 June 2015 - 08:33 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Yarn Kirby also didn't do too well either.

What? Kirby's Epic Yarn was loved by most critics, it sits at 86 on Metacritic and GameSpot gave it 8.5... It also sold more than 2 million.

#315160 B games. How wonderful they are.

Posted by storabajskorven on 22 June 2015 - 12:35 AM in General Gaming

Anyone play No More Heroes series on Wii or Killer 7 on Gamecube?

No more Heroes is in my top 3 for best Wii games. The sequel was meh, but the first is fantastic! I loved Killer 7 too.

#315111 ZOMBI - Ubisoft

Posted by storabajskorven on 21 June 2015 - 12:12 AM in General Gaming

Without the gamepad it's just another zombie/survival horror shooter.

Then again, it's Wii U owners' own fault we're not getting any kind of sequel because most of them didn't buy this great game.

The gamepad was well used, but not in any way essential. It was a great game, and it sold really well for a launch game as niche as this. Nobody could have expected it to sell better than it did.

Posted by storabajskorven on 20 June 2015 - 09:47 PM in General Gaming

Great, this game deserves to be played by more people! It shouldn't be too difficult to make it work without the gamepad. It did pretty well on the WiiU, but I wonder if it will sell enough to get a sequel. We'll see.

#315073 Official Xenoblade Information Thread

I hope they fix that awful sound when the dialogue box pops up.

#315071 B games. How wonderful they are.

Posted by storabajskorven on 20 June 2015 - 01:15 AM in General Gaming

Yes, Ubisoft is a good example. Their "AAA" titles like Assassin's Creed and later Splinter Cell games are boring as hell, while their lower-budget games like Red Steel 2, ZombiU and Child of Light are fun and interesting. I suppose it all boils down to that you need to sell tons of games to break even if your budget is large, which means you can't afford to take risks. And while good games sell, too good games don't sell enough.

#314893 Next proper Metroid Prime not likely until Nintendo's next console

Posted by storabajskorven on 17 June 2015 - 11:15 PM in E3 2015

Maybe that's the reason why Starfox and Zelda U are gonna be on Wii U, they started development before the Wii U started selling so poorly.

I think they'll release Zelda on the NX as well though, that game probably costs a lot to develop and they want sales :P

And it seems that developers are smart in the sense that they're waiting for their next console to make games in hopes that it will sell well...

The Wii U has been selling poorly since a few weeks after release. It's selling better now.

#314833 Next proper Metroid Prime not likely until Nintendo's next console

Posted by storabajskorven on 17 June 2015 - 02:28 PM in E3 2015

It irks me to know that they never considered a Metroid game for the Wii U.

You never know, this was just about Metroid Prime. I would love to see something in the style of Other M, but great like Super Metroid. I know this is not going to happen, but a man can dream, yeah?

#314791 Who would buy a Wii U now?

Posted by storabajskorven on 17 June 2015 - 05:55 AM in Wii U Hardware

Maybe people who like to play great games like ZombiU, Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World, Monster Hunter 3U and so on. And those, like me, who are looking forward to Xenoblade and Zelda.

#314744 Metroid Prime Federation Force 3DS

Posted by storabajskorven on 16 June 2015 - 04:32 PM in General Gaming

*fixed

Metroid has been dead for years and most people don't actually care about except the hardcore nintendo fans. Nintendo is probably using Federation as a safe way to test Metroid's interest and if they should make a new game.

Mp3 sold 1.8 million and Other M 1.3 million. Federation is the worst way to test interest, because fans and anyone who would enjoy a good Metroid game will hate it. The only thing it might accomplish is making people associate the Metroid franchise with a bad game.

#314704 Nintendo e3 - Digital Event Thread

Posted by storabajskorven on 16 June 2015 - 01:15 PM in E3 2015

Yes, that was bad. I have hopes for Star Fox Zero though, especially with Platinum involved.

#314491 Nintendo e3 - Digital Event Thread

Posted by storabajskorven on 16 June 2015 - 07:27 AM in E3 2015

Usually Nintendo will post a video of the whole event and then also in separate videos. I can add the video into the OP, if it gets uploaded as a whole (which it should)

Yes, that would be great, then I can have just the start of this thread open in the browser and just use that. Unless you plan on adding also individual trailers in the OP (please don't... )

Edit: If possible, the Youtube-link embedded in this site would be perfect, so I don't have to go to another site and get spoiled...

#314489 Nintendo e3 - Digital Event Thread

Posted by storabajskorven on 16 June 2015 - 07:20 AM in E3 2015

My problem is I'm probably going to have to see this a few hours late. Is there a way to get a link to the whole Digital event, without having to go through places where everything gets spoiled by individual trailers and stuff? I suppose not.
