My thoughts exactly, sourcing off Luigi's Mansion seems like a big sign of trust from Nintendo.
I hope its a Wii U game, it opens up the possibility of more old Nintendo IP's reboots/sequels.
Instead of Retro's slight chance of working on Eternal Darkness, maybe Next Level are doing it
.
I don't think Nintendo cares about Eternal Darkness sadly. ![]()
We can dream though.
I personally could see them doing Starfox.

I really liked the original. I hope they release a Wii U version as well. I'd say the original was the best 2D plat on the system.

I don't think that was their plan at all. Their plan seemed to be to make a console that would piggyback off the Wii's huge success by adding a new control feature (touch) that would appeal to non gamers. Then they would back that up with their stable of IP's that appeal to the Nintendo fanbase.
The problem is, the non gamers that ate up the Wii, don't really care about the Wii U. So Nintendo is in a pickle right now.

Would Mario Strikers or Punch Out warrant the notion of being "top-secret" ?
No, I don't think it's either of those.
Next Level games has a lot of talent, and they have progressively gotten more and more talented. They started off with lowly mario sports games. Then they got punch out and delivered a knock out (see what I did there?) and Luigi's mansion is getting unprecedented praise. I think whatever they are working on is something bigger.

Well, they did an excellent job with LM judging on the reviews. So I think Nintendo is willing to trust them with a bigger IP now.
They have slowly been getting bigger and bigger IP's.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's probably starfox.

ZombiU looks worse then most early xbox games. It's pretty ugly. They can push the hardware much farther. I don't blame them because it's a launch game and they are a small team, but I look forward to the future.I disagree about the graphics. Scarier, yes. Always!
A few of them just seem forced, the tapping on doors to remove barricades, using turrets, etc. I think for the most part it uses the gamepad quite well, and is a blessing amidst a sea of games that don't use it at all. I'm so happy someone decided to innovate right out the gate, but I do think that a few of the uses are forced.A lot of what people are suggesting are things which wouldnt suit this game IMO. If you want chainsaws, better weapons etc. you should just play something like Resident Evil although golf clubs and knives would be good.
And i dont want online multiplayer, the only changes to the current multiplayer i would like to see are having more than just 2 players playing at once. Why do people expect games to have online multiplayer these days?
An improvement in graphics would be nice, although im not that bothered about it really.
Basically, i want it to continue as a survival horror game and i dont want it to become an action game. Keeping it set in the UK will allow there to be a good reason for less weapons and ammo which IMO makes the game less action packed and more Survival Horror. I really love this game and dont want them to change a lot of it, i do agree that a more interesting story and more insight into your survivors personality would add something to the game though.
What do you feel are dumb uses of the gamepad?

Everyone is making a big fuss over triggers, It doesn't really matter. Analog sticks can be used for acceleration. The triggers aren't going to affect the system really that much at all.Except for the lack of analog triggers, which unfortunately gimps racing games. I'm not even sure how well GTA would work without analog acceleration, its something you do not realise how much you utilise until someone takes it away.
Either way though, I suspect the Wii U will be fine, from Nintendos point of view at least. The question is if it will be as popular or have as much third party support as Sony or Microsoft. That is a big question.

Oh I agree that the motion controls for skyward were amazing, but skyward was not the best zelda game. No exploration kills it for me. When I think about it, skyward sword was a great experiment, but I don't think we need more than one motion controlled zelda. It was released towards the end of the wii life span, and everyone's wii was in their closet in a box, so no one even played it any more. Although it was the best Zelda game ever no doubt.Motion controls is the reason skyward sword IS the best Zelda game, and I agree TP Motion controls sucked, but they completely nailed it with skyward sword, it was so simple and easy to get a hang of. OoT was outright amazing for its time and still today, but SS is IMO 20X better
