It may have become an annualised franchise but its hardly being run into the ground. At least unlike Call Of Duty there is a significant difference between the various AC games.
Assassins creed 3 was a good game but it was all over the place. If they keep putting them out annually its going to make it worse and worse as time passes. Especially since AC is very story focused

If this happens i can see Nintendo winning next gen especially if they have all the 3rd party support. Too bad people are like blind kittens and will buy anything with Halo or God of war pasted on the cover. Microsoft could literally write halo 5 on a cardboard box and it would sell like hot cakes.

How so ? Even if he does leave that doesn't mean the game can't be made or that it can't be good.
It has gone through development hell for what 5 years? Idk how long to be honest. I could see the game being dust in the wind if he leaves either that or Ubisoft will rush it together. It wont come out its like Half life 3 and the last guardian. Games that are so good that companies are afraid to cancel them but don't want to make or dont have the resources to make.
