#297868 Miyamoto not making casual games anymore.

Posted by flowerlandfilms on 03 September 2014 - 04:28 AM in Wii U Games and Software

No dude. Sorry. Hes pretty damn specific.

"Fortunately, because of the spread of smart devices, people take games for granted now. It's a good thing for us, because we do not have to worry about making games something that are relevant to general people's daily lives"

We no longer need to make games for the people who like mobile style game offerings is pretty complete and concise. No real way around this one.

Nintendo took a chance, making simplistic games for what they thought was a beginner audience who would then move on to be a more sophisticated audience, that just turned out to be a simplistic audience who never wanted anything more. Now Nintendo, and I quote, 'Doesnt have to worry about' making games for them anymore.

Anyone from that audience, who does want more, will move on, on there own. Nintendo no longer has to waste resources making games to bring them into gaming.

Except for the fact that it is a translated comment from the original Japanese, and the media have been known to take whatever meaning they wish from Japanese Nintendo statements without translating them properly. This is actually the very opposite of "Specific".

#297867 Amiibos Are a "Smash" Hit

I will happily use my Samus again after the first time. IF THEY EVER MAKE A NEW PRIME GAME.

I'm buying the characters I like because they look cool. Probably won't use them after the first time for the lolz.

#297790 Miyamoto not making casual games anymore.

Posted by flowerlandfilms on 02 September 2014 - 04:27 AM in Wii U Games and Software

The word he used to describe them was pathetic, actually. And hes being pretty specific and damning.

Hes directly referring to all the time and money, and oppurtunity cost nintendo spent expanding the user base with these casuals, and how they spectacularly failed, en masse, to want to take the next step and try and challenge themselves with something more advanced. So, Nintendo is done with them.

Your second sentence is completely nonsensical and has nothing to do with anything anyone in reality has said.

I think that's what you want him to have meant. But I do not think that is what he meant.

He isn't saying anything here. He is just musing about the shfiting sands of the game industry and everyone is mis-quoting it as 'CAZUAL GAMES SUXKZORZ LOLZ'.
Miyamoto does not consider Mario and Donkey Kong etc to be casual games.

#292574 I hope they make more console colors!

Posted by flowerlandfilms on 08 July 2014 - 07:36 AM in Wii U Hardware

Wow! That's a lotta nuts!
I keep waiting for them to make custom shells, in the meantime I have a Vinyl sticker on it that makes it look like a NES.

#292487 I would purchase more, but I can't!

Posted by flowerlandfilms on 06 July 2014 - 09:42 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I

We have legal ways to enter the country and there is a process for becoming a citizen. They are choosing not to become citizens. It's a complicated matter, but that's part of the reason I support the Fair Tax. Very short summary that won't do it justice, but basically income taxes are eliminated for everyone, including businesses. This causes prices to go down and individuals have more disposable income, but there is a higher set sales tax. So you only pay taxes on things you choose to purchase. The lower retail prices + the fixed sales tax ends up being about the same as you pay with income taxes and lower sales taxes, but it is impossible to cheat sales taxes, unless you're buying in a black market.

Way too philosophical and economic for this board though, lol. Sorry guys.

Interesting concept. Might want to test it out in one of the states before rolling it out nation wide.

You forgot to mention illegal aliens not paying income taxes and the millions of dollars of waste due to abuse of entitlement programs. Gotta look at that problem from both sides. You should look into the Fair Tax, if that kind of thing interests you. It blew my mind.

But, on topic, I guess I'm lucky enough to live in an online tax free zip code. If you're looking to change, I'm pretty sure Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida have several tax free zip codes.

Illegal Immigrants can not pay taxes because you will not let them pay taxes. They would be more than happy to do so if you would just allow them to become citizens.

#292436 Nintendo investor flabbergasted that Iwata has not resigned

Posted by flowerlandfilms on 05 July 2014 - 08:05 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Iwatas approval rating whent down from the high 90's to the mid 70's. People make a big deal about that, but it's really like going from "Unanimous" to "Vast Majority".
He is still very popular with the people who count, and deserves to be.

#292125 Club Nintendo Gifts this year?

Posted by flowerlandfilms on 01 July 2014 - 01:04 PM in Wii U Games and Software

In Australia we don't have any status system, we just get "Stars" and wait for something that isn't a pair of shoelaces to show up and grab it before it's gone.
We get no prizes or Christas gifts. We do get screwed though.

The reason you need to pay so many state taxes is because businesses and corporations, along with the more wealthy in society are not paying theirs.
Next time a state or National election rolls by, make sure you make it known that you want them held accountable, by closing tax loopholes for the rich.
The wonderful thing about democracy is that it is within your power to change policy by holding poloiticians to account.

There is no way in hell, with Mario Galaxy under their belt, and the power of Wii U, that Starfox won't be the most beautiful game ever created.

#289884 Zelda U Protagonist - Your Opinion?

Posted by flowerlandfilms on 12 June 2014 - 12:24 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I was thinking this is further down one of the Wind Waker time lines, where the world is back to normal, and everyone worships the hero of time by dressing like him.
So this character could be any villager or jerk.
