#283509 Ubisoft screws WiiU Owners again

Posted by Poptartboy on 02 May 2014 - 02:27 PM in Wii U Games and Software

So basically there isn't a single to complain about here? I'll be getting it for Wii U then.

#283185 Mario Kart 8 Bundle Confirmed!

Posted by Poptartboy on 30 April 2014 - 01:38 PM in Wii U Hardware

Well only 6m people have a WiiU now so are you saying 30m people will go out & spend £250 on a WiiU just to play MK8 ?

If i didn't already have a WiiU i wouldn't buy a WiiU to play it.

No I'm not saying they will, but saying it's 'only' Mario Kart would be like saying its 'only' GTA. It's a massive seller.

#282878 XBOX ONE Production Could Temporarily Cease

Posted by Poptartboy on 28 April 2014 - 09:57 AM in General Gaming

Aside from Dead Rising 3 or Ryse..but Ryse is crap. You can play an XBO game on PC or another console.

My point is not how good the Xbox One is over the PS4, it really isn't. My point is that comments like the one above are just believing into the Sony hype. And that is all the PS4 is right now.

It makes sense to scale back on production of Xbox One's if there is an abundance of them sitting in retail outlets. The problem with Microsoft is that they really have shot themselves in the foot with their behaviour surrounding the Xbox One's policies and idiotic comments from Mattrick and Orth just compounded to make matters worse.

E3 2014 will be important for the Xbox One and its future, if Microsoft have a successful E3 and show case their games and give gamers a reason to purchase a Xbox One then there's no reason why the Xbox One cannot sell. They've got a talented face in Phil Spencer, they've got some interesting exclusive games up their sleeve and have yet more to show if the reported $1bn spent on securing exclusives is true, so they're not out of it yet.

Yeah I totally agree with this. They could also get rid of Kinect and cut the price if things got to that point.

#282823 XBOX ONE Production Could Temporarily Cease

Posted by Poptartboy on 27 April 2014 - 11:49 PM in General Gaming

What part isn't true? I still own a xbone but it was forced into early retirement as I play Wii U and PS4 much more.

Well considering the PS4 has 1 exclusive coming so far I would say the bit where you said they have the exclusives. Xbox also has exclusives and 3rd party games.

#282788 PS4 officially sold through 7 Million Globally.

Posted by Poptartboy on 27 April 2014 - 12:39 PM in General Gaming

DC sold 10.6 Million

Yep, but it didn't do it in 18 months. They killed it at about 6 million. It's not like no one ever bought one after that date.

#282776 PS4 officially sold through 7 Million Globally.

Posted by Poptartboy on 27 April 2014 - 10:57 AM in General Gaming

Xbox 360 wanted a billion people to play 360.

Sony happy with 7 million. Well wait 150 years and MS will claim it's Billion! WOO!

BTW PS4 outsold Vita I think now. Sadder note WiiU is as old as Dreamcast when it died and sold less. DC ended with 10.6. WiiU? 6-7?
Eeek Nintendo better hope MK8 pushes major numbers.

The Dreamcast sold 6.5 million when they killed it.

#282774 XBOX ONE Production Could Temporarily Cease

Nintendo has the exclusives and best developers, Sony has great exclusives and 3rd party and Xbone has.... stock?

I find it funny how you used own an Xbox and since you got the PS4 you like to make comments like this.

The Xbox One has more exclusives out right now and upcoming. I'm sure in time PS4 will have some great ones too.

#282772 Mario Kart 8 Bundle Confirmed!

Posted by Poptartboy on 27 April 2014 - 10:30 AM in Wii U Hardware

I have the game on order, i cannot see people buying a WiiiU now just for MK8 though.

You say 'only' Mario Kart 8 like 35 million people didn't buy Mario Kart Wii.

#279365 Watch dogs wii u delayed

Posted by Poptartboy on 01 April 2014 - 09:31 AM in Wii U Games and Software

As far as I know delay Wii U Rayman to release Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, yet not do the same with Watch Dogs and just delaying the Wii U version.

#279363 Nicalis Founder - "Wii U Gamepad is a waste of time and resources."

Posted by Poptartboy on 01 April 2014 - 09:28 AM in Wii U Hardware

What I will say about the gamepad is that so many people complained about Wii games having gimmicky controls, shaking to roll in DK etc, and so I find it amusing that there are complaints about Tropical Freeze having a blank screen.

I do wish there were more uses of the gamepad overall but for most of the games so far I've been pretty happy with how it's been used.

#279044 I think its time to support Ubisoft

Posted by Poptartboy on 30 March 2014 - 06:35 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I'd love to but they delayed it saying it 'might' come out this year.

#265221 Can we have a general SM3DW thread?

I don't understand why anyone would have a problem with these controls. I find them pretty much perfect.

#264593 The Xbox One could see a reduction in RRP earlier than previously anticipated,

This guy is the biggest twonk going.

#264592 If the Wii U is not powerful...

Posted by Poptartboy on 03 January 2014 - 12:24 PM in Wii U Hardware

That is the thing. Short term, you can generate an ROI by dumping a small investment into these games and putting them out there. Long term, the core audience will be somewhere else. Meanwhile, Nintendo's audience, which may not be exactly the same as the other platforms', is not growing in the way of interest for your products (forget about the quality of the product and look at the lack of advertising as a prime example).

My overall business philosophy coincides with common sense-do not waste resources unless you intend for something of value to occur.

With the Wii U, these third parties put their stuff out there at launch, and then gave up. Almost as if they expected an overnight turnaround for these genres on the platform. I am not sure Nintendo did their best to work with third parties, but the initial effort, from the outset, would have been a long term investment for publishers.

This line of reasoning is why their overall about face makes so little sense to me, and why we have 5 man port teams in the first place.

Yeah absolutely right in my opinion.

I mean how ridiculous of EA to think they can put out 2 half arsed sports titles, the 3rd game in a trilogy, and a 5 month late racing game and expected those to have sold well.

To me if 3rd parties had put in real effort as promised I think the games and the system would be selling much better, and ultimately would have given these companies more opportunities to sell games.

The more consoles out there, the more people there are to buy your product.

#264324 Why I think the Wii U will do alright in the UK.

Posted by Poptartboy on 01 January 2014 - 01:45 PM in Wii U Hardware

I agree about the price difference, even though some of the Kinect stuff is cool.

We got an Xbox One because my girlfriend prefers Xbox to Playstation. I actually do really like it though and am looking forward to Titanfall, Project Spark, Sunset Overdrive, and Quantum Break.

And of course stuff like Watch Dogs and The Division will play great on it even if the PS4 version does end up looking slightly better.

#264288 Post Your Wii U Library and Collection

Rayman Legends
Deus Ex
Batman Arkham City
Batman Arkham Origins
Need for Speed Most Wanted
Mass Effect 3

And then eshop games:

#264236 What the hell's wrong with the gaming community?

Posted by Poptartboy on 31 December 2013 - 04:25 PM in General Gaming

Oh yeah, portable games.
Don't people always hate on zeldo's portable games regardless?
I liked spirit tracks and phantom hourglass.
They're the only 3D zeldo's I've ever enjoyed.

Seriously though, why do you type Zeldo? Seriously.

#264068 Sony: We're more committed to new IP than other platform holders

Posted by Poptartboy on 30 December 2013 - 03:19 PM in General Gaming

My thoughts: why don't you all worry about what you think of Knack instead of what anyone else thinks of it?

#264023 How much do you think the Wii U will sell the whole month of Dec.

Posted by Poptartboy on 30 December 2013 - 09:13 AM in Wii U Hardware

Well first feel free to whenever you see my username skip my post and read the next one we all will survive believe me. the post has a reference. Nintendo had 7 years to look at the HD market and see what was going on. Look at the games how they looked and i am sure they had talks with(i hope) developers to see where games were going. So it would have been fine if Iwata didnt say anything. But Nintendo built this console and no one else. They had years to look at game engines, and how HD gaming works. In all of this he comes out and says he doesnt understand why people think the Wii U is underpowered. Really its an opinion its mine you may think differently good for you. TO EACH HIS OWN... different people, different thoughts, different opinions

At this point, what are you even saying? I don't know whether you are saying it's underpowered or not. If you're not saying that then what are you talking about?

The games on Wii U look pretty nice, so what else do you want?

#263984 Give your impressions on Xbone and PS4 games here

Posted by Poptartboy on 30 December 2013 - 12:27 AM in General Gaming

Has anyone had the issue with the rubber on the analog sticks go funny on the PS4 yet? I've seen that quite a bit online, and also on a demo unit for the system.

#263887 Sony: We're more committed to new IP than other platform holders

Posted by Poptartboy on 29 December 2013 - 06:54 AM in General Gaming

and thats your opinion and nothing more

As was your comment that you finished with 'end of'.

#263884 Maybe we have not seen NEXT-GEN Nintendo yet?

Posted by Poptartboy on 29 December 2013 - 06:27 AM in Wii U Hardware

I agree we have to wait and see some of the titles. MK looks amazing. I think the thing that holds Nintendo back( not really their fault well kinda) they dont have a game that competes with xb1/ps4. Like most people brush their games off because they say they dont push the limit. Big hugh detailed worlds, lots of enemies, high detailed textures..... Nintendo does gameplay forst which i commend but they need to make sure they have some graphical hitters so as Iwata put it "people wont think the Wii U is underpowered"... which he doesnt understand why they think that. HA!

You say you don't really care about graphics but you go on about them all the time. I think they matter a lot more to you than you think.

#263790 Potential buyer, help please! advice needed!

Posted by Poptartboy on 28 December 2013 - 11:03 AM in General Gaming

What other games have come from Sony or MS studios?
tearaway, and killer instinct?

Tearaway is a creative, and genuinely enjoyable, and original new IP, but I often have to laugh at the fuss made over new IPs.

They are great when they do something new, like Tearaway, or Pikmin, but often they are just the same old games reskinned.

What is Knack doing that is new? Mario 3D World has done new stuff in the first hour and yet is called 'just another Mario game'.

Are we really at the point where we think replace Mario with some new character and it's suddenly a better game?

#263387 Give your impressions on Xbone and PS4 games here

Posted by Poptartboy on 25 December 2013 - 02:25 PM in General Gaming

I've never liked the Xbox controllers and the Xbox One controller is no different. I find them too bulky with the left analogue stick in the wrong place and the buttons too stiff. The PS4 controller is far more comfortable in my opinion and one of the reasons why the Playstation consoles have always been my primary ones.

I held a PS4 controller the other week and it's a massive improvement. I much prefer the analogue placement of Xbox though, but the general shape of the grips is much more comfortable than it was on PS3.
