#318006 After Star Fox and Zelda... Anything else?

Posted by Raiden on 22 April 2016 - 07:38 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I won't be buying star fox, but Zelda is a definite. Saddened that the Wii U didn't do better, it's my favourite system.

Smart. Game is ass. I want to throw it in the trash but may as well try and get some money back on this pile of putrid dog crap.

Don't use the browser then. Use the app or stop using consoles since they suck at this and get a Roku.

#317939 NX controller possibly leaked - looks almost exactly like the patent

NoE supposedly said it's fake. Again Nintendo never comments on rumors even when some turned out to be true. If NoE came out to debunk it then they must feel these fakes are false and damaging to an image.

These were considered "leaks" as well. Top and Bottom were "confirmed" images of Wii U when known as cafe. Middle one was the "leaked" Revolution controller before iwata showed it at TGS 2005. Thing is with leaks is that someone will fake it and someone else will run with it and copy that other fake and post it online to make it look real as if 2-3 or most post a similar leak then must be real right? No.  These things always come out in spurts. One fake comes out then many more come out and often look the same to feel more convincing for internet hits and attention.  Early dev kit controllers for ANY console are never the final polished piece we get at home. They are stitched together parts that are far from a final design. DS4 once had a touch screen then a touchpad and even those controllers looked little like the final design. Early 360 controllers in dev kits had different face buttons and no home button. Just wait til E3. These leaks are always pointless. A more finished dev kit with a more final controller usually comes after the launch

More images surface hehe

#317928 Wii U NOT ceasing production says Nintendo

Posted by Raiden on 23 March 2016 - 11:29 AM in Wii U News

The report came from Nikkei, which is reputable in Japan for pretty much always hitting the mark. They aren't some source that can be counted out for small reasons, as they only post about business when they are 100% sure.

They previously reported about the 3DS XL before the 3DS XL was even a thing. But more importantly, this is Nintendo. As much as I like them their damage control is amazing. Things like not having a 3DS XL, or the not N3DS being sent out west, both which were busts and probably were well on the plans before reports arrived.

The original piece stated that some parts have ceased production. That wouldn't be something that could be easily popped out. All Nikkei would have to do is get someone in to double check, as I'm sure that production amounts are part of their analysis pieces.

I don't expect the Wii U to cease as early as they state though. Ultimately, there is still something to be made. NX doesn't fund itself.

No they reported and a successor to 3DS. XL was just a revision . They also said Wii U would be 250 bucks and said NX will use Android. Both turned out false. They throw so much trash at the wall some of it's bound to stick and that is when people freak out and GO SEE THEY WERE RIGHT. They were not right and still wrong and report BS

#317919 Wii U Production Ending? Rumor

Posted by Raiden on 22 March 2016 - 01:01 PM in Wii U News

I find it quite hard to believe because:
1 - It is coming from the same company who said the NX was going to use Android, only to get corrected with a huge No by Nintendo a few days later.
2- It is coming from the same company who said the Wii U launch price would be $250 instead of $300.
3 - It goes completely against Kimishima's words of supporting the Wii U with more sellers like Splatoon and Mario Maker.
4 - It makes no sense. People expect a new console in December? Lol.

This paper is more wrong than they are right. Wii U makes them money.

Nintendo would not spend the time and money on localization of something like Tokyo Mirage Sessions if this was true. There would be no point otherwise. That in itself is a new project.

They announced a new Paper Mario which is likely a fall or holiday release. You don't do that if you are not producing systems. Maybe next year Nintendo does pull the plug but not this year.

#317913 NX controller possibly leaked - looks almost exactly like the patent

Posted by Raiden on 21 March 2016 - 09:00 PM in General Gaming

It screams fake. No prototype wold ship with dev kits with unusable analog sticks. Also the guy posting it was super shady so it screamed BS right there on how the kit was his but not but a friends but a uncles and crap claimed he knew little but devs don't post this stuff unless they want to be knee deep in legal boiling water. Nintendo would have had it taken down by now. The lighting is also off on parts of the controller. ALL dev kits are sent something functional. Early DS dev kits were GBA hardware with a SNES pad with 2 screens as early on DS was a 2D machine. The controller was still functional. Early Wii U kits had a unfinished Gamepad with grey buttons and a box shape but still fully functioned. It's also funny this fake crap shows up only a couple months after the patent. From what we hear some devs had NX dev kits for quite some time now. Why did nothing leak then. Why only AFTER we see some patents THAT WERE NEVER SHOWING A SHAPE OF A CONTROLLER BUT FUNCTIONALITY AS AN EXAMPLE. Also Nintendo files hundred of patents every year and never get used.

Remember all these Nintendo controllers that Nintendo mad ea patent for and never made. The Wii remote with a touch screen. The interchangeable buttons. The Football!

IuqylcL.jpgFffUuUb.jpgherXats.jpgVgKsT4e.png

Remember when these were made into unusable plastic shells and shipped to developers? WE have Wii and Wii U patent ideas here. Aside from the football they just show the functionality rather than design. None of them used.

#317911 NX controller possibly leaked - looks almost exactly like the patent

Posted by Raiden on 21 March 2016 - 03:38 PM in General Gaming

Cropping does scream fake because the whole point of the second screen is to have the whole image as a second experience. Not Screen shape obscuring your view. THE ANALOG STICKS DO NOT MOVE.

AAlso they never construct a functioning prototype until they have a design they want to move forward with. Rest of the the time they sculpt it out of clay or hollow shells. THEY NEVER give those shells to developers in kits and certainly do not have functioning screens. Oh and the guy who posted this on Reddit has a shady story.

Also yes it screams fake

#317909 NX controller possibly leaked - looks almost exactly like the patent

Posted by Raiden on 20 March 2016 - 11:36 PM in General Gaming

It's BS. Analog sticks are part of the mold and do not move. Look close. The pic is a cropped picture of the Unreal Engine 4 demo. Cropped instead of making it fit the screen so that's another red flag. Never do patents look like the final product even the Wii U gamepad one was not the final product. The patent also has handles. The patent is not showing the controller anyway but the free form display concept so another flag. What we have here is a 3d printed model with a cropped image PS or pasted on it or both but either way everything on this screams a fake.

Wii U and 3DS Lifetime Sales Now 12.6 and 57.94 Millions; Nintendo Releases Financials

Nintendo just released its financial results for the first nine months of fiscal year 2015, ending on December 31st, 2015. Income numbers were all in the black, with a slight decrease year-on-year in net sales. On the other hand, there was a substantial increase in operating income

Nintendo1-670x126.jpg

More interestingly, we get an update on hardware and software shipments for Wii U and 3DS.

Nintendo3.jpg

This means that in the three months between October and December, including the Holiday season, the company shipped 1.87 million Wii U units, and 3.6 million 3DS units worldwide.

The company from Kyoto also provided a statement via press release, with an in-depth analysis of the results. Unsurprisingly, Super Mario Maker and Splatoon take front and center stage on the Wii U scenario, with 3.34 million units and 4.06 million units shipped respectively.

We also get the profit forecast for the full fiscal year. Again, Super Mario Maker and Splatoon are a focus of Nintendo’s short-term plans for their home console. The company did not change its previous forecast of 50 billion yen operating income by the end of the fiscal year, meaning that they expect to earn about 7.5 billion yen in the current quarter, ending on March 31st.

“During the nine month period ended December 31, 2015, for Nintendo 3DS, “New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL,” both of which launched during the previous period as the newest members of the Nintendo 3DS family, made up the bulk of the Nintendo 3DS hardware sales. As for the Nintendo 3DS software, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer became a hit by selling 2.93 million units globally, while in  overseas markets, popular titles such as Pokémon Omega Ruby/Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS which were released during the previous fiscal year showed steady sales. In the Japanese market, titles such as Rhythm Tengoku (Japanese title) and Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright/Conquest gained popularity.  In addition, some third-party titles sold over a million units as well. As a result, the global sales of the Nintendo 3DS hardware and software were 5.88 million and 38.87 million units respectively.

With respect to Wii U, Splatoon sold 4.06 million units and Super Mario Maker sold 3.34 million units, making both titles blockbusters that vitalized the Wii U platform. In addition, Yoshi’s Woolly World, which was released during this period, and evergreen titles released in the previous period such as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U showed steady sales. The global sales of the Wii U hardware and software reached 3.06 million and 22.62 million units respectively.

For amiibo, the figure-type and the card-type sold approximately 20.50 million units and approximately 21.50 million units, respectively, and the platform showed strong performance globally without losing momentum. Furthermore, sales of additional download content for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U increased and total download sales reached 30.5 billion yen. As a result, net sales were 425.6 billion yen (of which overseas sales were 308.9 billion yen or 72.6% of the total sales) and operating income was 42.4 billion yen. Ordinary income was 55.2 billion yen and profit attributable to owners of parent was 40.5 billion yen.”

Nintendo2-670x121.jpg

“For Nintendo 3DS, we will globally release a special edition hardware pre-installed with Pokémon title(s) from the original Pokémon series on February 27 which marks the 20th year since the original Pokémon series release. Furthermore, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and key titles from third-party publishers are scheduled for release.

For Wii U, we will strive to maintain the attention level of Splatoon and Super Mario Maker, which are continuing to show steady sales, while introducing new titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.

Meanwhile, for amiibo, we will continue to expand the product lineup in order to maintain momentum. At the same time, we will aim to further expand sales by offering new gaming experiences with the use of amiibo. In addition, the first application for smart devices, Miitomo, is scheduled for release. There is no revision to the consolidated financial forecast for this fiscal year, announced on May 7, 2015.”

Lastly, a detailed breakdown of sales by hardware model, including a forecast of shipments for the full fiscal year. In particular, Nintendo forecasts the shipment total of 3.4 million Wii U units during the whole fiscal year (from April 1st, 2015 to March 31st, 2016), and 7.6 millon 3DS units.

Nintendo4.jpg

Interestingly, the new The Legend of Zelda for Wii U is nos listed as a 2016 release again, after being labeled as “TBD” in last quarter’s financial documents. Fans can now breathe easier. Genei Ibun Roku #FE is also confirmed for both Europe and North America with a 2016 release, but unfortunately we didn’t get a narrowed down window compared to what we already knew.

Wii U has INSANE attach rates. No other console this can can even come close.

As a person who still plays games from Saturn,PS1,N64 days. Eh I am fine with it' It's a 10 year old game in HD and all one should expect. Most PS2 games look worse in HD so whatever. Game is good anyway and point still gets across in story so it still serves it's purpose.
