Hi Guys! I'm having trouble loading YouTube on the Wii U Internet Browser. The pages are broken and it loads too slow to the point it sometimes throws and Error Code.

Anybody has a similar problem? I think this happened when they recently updated the YouTube App on Wii U.

Thanks!

Probably a coincidence, the youtube app on the wii u actually has nothing to do with the youtube app in the wii u browser its actually client side (on your wii u) while the youtube you access via the browser is server side. If the wii u browser is losing compatability with yt, thats because youtube made changes/updates server side that broke some compatability. Some jerry rigged work arounds will probably pop up soon enough, and the problem will likely be fixed soon enough after that.

Yeah but I meant that they might've deliberately broke YT on the browser just so they can force users to use the app. But yeah I think the cause is Google might be making changes to the page itself just like the linking to Google+ thing. Have you guys tried YT on the browser lately? Thanks for the reply btw :)

Exactly. Something similar that is ticking me off a bit is that some articles were saying how the YouTube app now available on 3DS doesn't support 3D. Did they really expect it too?

This isn't on Nintendo..... Google well, YouTube would have to recode to support the type of 3D that the 3DS displays and they simply are not going to spend that much time and resources to do that just for one small platform in the grand scale of devices that consume video.

The only thing that's bugging me with the 3DS YouTube app is that much like the eShop and Miiverse it's actually an HTML5 powered app and not an actual native "application" like the Nintendo Video app. It's sluggish and the page loading is too slow for me. Yeah you can still watch vids but it's not really a go to app for watching videos frequently.

switch your user agent to ipad.

the app works fine now though, you might want to try using that more.

No they wouldn't.
The 3DS could do SBS which is one of the HTML5 3D options you can select on youtube.

Makes no sense.
HTML5 is a web standard yes, but the video player which uses the either webm or h264/vorbis codecs underlying youtube/3dsapp/html5videotag is a piece of native software.

Hey thanks I didn't know you could change the User Agent on the browser. I'll try that :)

The 3DS YouTube app is pretty much a glorified browser. Not sure of it really incorporates all the features of the HTML5 standards.
