If the demo's anything to go by 3d is a must all the time because without it I've noticed its quite hard to judge spacing etc between player and monster. Drawback being frame rate is reduced.

Used to have all kinds of visual tricks memorized for this, angles of monsters legs compared to hunter etc... After a while it became second nature and I didnt think about it anymore, and then once the series went 3d, I did a complete brain dump on it all.

For charge axe users wanting to go element up, but not wanting to waste phials getting to the super swing, if you have your axe out, simply pressing both attack buttons at the same time will start the super slam immediately, to which you can element up by pressing R, getting all phials stored into element up.

Yeah, well, Im a filthy liar. I ditched my lobster narja suit the second I hit High rank and began getting tons of loot with my pickpocket palicos. Made about five half sets cause I thought they looked cool before ditching them cause I didnt like the skills.

Settled on a full Zinogre suit with evade 2 gemmed in. Being as Im an axe user and I dont block, Evading is kind of my thing. Looks like Im constantly breakdancing under the beasties feet, and that Zinogre is a freaking BAMF suit.

But then what does the game do? It throws early game Axes with white sharpness in my lap, that SHARPEN THEMSELVES WHENEVER I DODGE???

Game... Game...

ebb5774a08d7b84b338e735113e8bb03.320x240

My pockets are overflowing with monster organs. Its beautiful.

And Jesus, these knockouts... and straight up executions, holy crap the Charge blade man. Monsters going to sleep is like a freaking death sentence for them.

Oh, limping to your cave? *Whacks cannon fodder enemies around for a quick yellow charge and some phials on way to lair*

pulls out axe, walks up to head, just far enough so only the final hit contacts.

*KRUNCH!!!*

Quest Complete!

It was the ice caverns, and Brach had just surprised me by showing me it could follow me up the walls by using its slime covered pounders like suction cups, and he could climb and jump off walls just like me! After chasing me across the ceiling ice cicles a few times I guess he got bored and decided to smash my poor compatriots instead, who were woefully under armoured for a raging exploding brach, splat, pattycakes 1 shotted.

*Leap* splat, supahkillah supah killed, all as I watched in horror from my icy perch on the ceiling. 'Tasty cakes, NOOOOOOO, you were so young! You shall be avenged!!!

the brach promptly faced me, and put a fresh coat of slime on its pounders. Pretty sure I knew it was about to try and swat me off the ceiling with a flying leap. I was pretty sure I had done enough damage, and had a high enough attack that another head shot would stun him, and their might be a chance his mounting resistance was down to a last hit, So I centered the cameraon him, and took a flying leap.

It looked something like this, but both of us flying ridiculous distances across the entirety of a map.

tumblr_n26fknQA4l1r0sqjpo1_500.gif
A full beard erupted from my face upon the moment of impact. His head horn shattered, and by the time he hit the ground, he was just a corpse.

I think we ran out of time before my partners were able to get back and get any carves D:

I am only a bit into the game but I took down the Great Jaggi... injured him enough where he limped back to a nesting area. Woke him up with a small flash which stunned him and finished him off.

RIP.

Finally caught that rascally Jaggie huh? They sure do like to run away once they know they are outmatched.

Yep... and every time I'd have to deal blows to the smaller ones in the pack.. they can be quite mean at times. It was pretty wicked the first time I injured him enough.. he appeared to limp away and struggled climbing up the side of a cliff.

He did limp away, and he did struggle to get up that cliff... All to get away from YOU.

Limping is an important sign to look out for later in the game, its a sure sign that a monster isweak enough to be captured.... and that pounding on it much more could kill it and fail the quest D:

Pretty sure its the same as finding a mystery or shining charm in an actual stage. Its completely random its not like you combine like skills to get improved versions. You just trade in your garbage at a chance to get not garbage.

I return from the depths for a moment.

Current status

Hours - 112:55

Main armor sets - Regios S (Blade) Tetsu S (gunner)

Favorite Weapons - Akantor CB and Brachy Bow

HR - 61 (Ukanlos urgent is up)

Caravan Status - Up through 10 star with 90% completed.  Fought Caravan Crimson Fatalis

Plans - Reach G rank and have one full g rank armor set by the end of the weekend.  Hoping to make tigerstripe Zam CB for that Para/KO combo.  Will become new favorite weapon.

That's where I'm at.

Edit: Forgot important info.

Final two localization blogs:

Also, the event quests won't be released on a weekly trickle.  They will be given out in large monthly chunks, starting tomorrow.  At least one of the quests tomorrow will give the materials necessary to make the Zelda gear.  Kind of important.

Since the game has a fully fledged online its comparable to MH3U on Wii U so in your opinion is MH4 better/not as good overall?

I'm picking it up as soon as I finish my backlog.

I miss the under water battles, but seem to be fairly alone in that opinion.

But thats tri/3u's only real pro against a tsunami of superiority coming from Mh4. My opinion is 4 is a fantatstic improvement for the series, and over 3u, which was a great entry itself and a huge improvement over the base tri, which was great, but so small for a mh game, even compared to non G MH entries, in both single player and online, Mh4 dominates 3g, and I put a LOT of time into 3g.

Is there lots of npc's?

Rough estimate:  Around 35.

Why do you ask?
