Hello I start with a trip to the first game of it kind Mario on the NES as a game this what all my friends were talking about about how gaming is for the homes. Then with newer titles I was dragged in till the 3D years of Mario. I lost the magic of the fun simple 2D and the great music. Then I see kids of today play the newer 2D Mario WIIU and I see the love for gaming like this as I did with the first of these titles so today gaming is needed like this to spring a child or children into the world of gaming.

My nephews, now 13 and 11 were introduced to their first 2D mario with NSMB Wii, eventually they got the DS version too. Prior to that, they knew of Mario Bros. but they had never played the classic 2D style previously. Even with them thrown into full 3D games from the start of their gaming experiences, they played the heck out of NSMB.

They don't have a Wii U so when they come over and visit NSMBU is usually the first game to go in as they like playing coop. I hope Nintendo continues the NSMB series but I do think they need to take a step back and perhaps give it another look to see if they can make it even seem more fresh and unique while keeping the 2D style and feel of old.

I go back to NSMB U every so often to replay some challenge modes, which I think helps add extra value.

Nostalgia, it's a strong feeling of remembering your past and the enjoyments about it, you tend to forget the bad parts when it comes to nostalgia, thus no matter what age, the nes version will always be better, but then the kids of today grow up and play the Nes game, they'll just think it's pretty bland. Then go back to NSMB because for them, it brings them nostalgia.

Super Mario World is the best Mario game ever made. I played it on NES back then..still have my NES from as a kid and still works and Mario but it's far from my fave or best to me as depite what it did for gaming then has since been bested by itself. NSMB games tho are awful. Really bland art design, level design often seems lazy and the controls in those games everything is on ice. Hate those games.

Gonna switch this into General Gaming as it's a bit broader of a topic.

Well we see there the kids who play NSMB know nothing of gaming as such you see the bright colors it going to pull younger audiences who do not care about art style just that it new experience to their minds and not a violent one

Super Mario World was a SNES game.

I like the NSMB games for the nostalgia but they get old for me very quickly  because they are so easy. It's tough when you have the older 2d Mario games (like the masterful Super Mario World) to compare them to.

Yeah, 2d Mario games have gotten easier over the years but also prettier and with some new gameplay elements. I like the series but DK is the 2d platform king on any console.

My only gripe with the NSMB games is bosses should be more difficult and last longer. They should think about new coop ways to play and include online play too.

The controls aren't much different from the older games, only differences are the spin attack, tripple jump, being able to carry people, and wall climbing.

I like NSMB, my only issue with them really is that they are generally way too easy.

I love Donkey Country because they are actually really challenging. The new ones aren't as difficult as the old ones though, but I suppose there aren't many modern games that are as hard as NES/SNES era games.
