What do you think? I've been thinking of getting one but I feel like it's just because I want to play Battlefront and Arkham Knight and not much else. Maybe it would be worth it in the long run? I dunno. I'm just pretty bored with my wii u since there isn't anything else coming out this year.

The guy in GAME was trying to persuade me to buy one but most of what he said was just hype and he kept telling me how amazing fallout is. When I came home i looked up some gameplay of fallout and it just looks like a very bland rpg.

I have had far more to play on my Wii U than my PS4 (esp with Rodea in a couple days for Wii U and Xenoblade Chronicles X next month). However with Gravity Rush 2,Street Fighter,Nier and King of Fighter 14 in 2016 will justify my PS4 finally.

Get a 10 foot charge cable for the DS4 as the battery life is piss poor so may as well use it plugged in. There are no Demo's on PSN and it gives you no screenshots or vids like Eshop for games. Still uses the PS3 system where want to buy a game for 3 bucks. Tough you have to add 5 bucks to your wallet. The themes are junk. Every game takes like 40GB of your HDD as none are optimized. So get a 1TB or 2TB HDD for it and I mean buy a internal one as PS4 does not support External HDD. Good thing is replacing the internal HDD will not void the warranty. Just be aware of installs and long install times.

If you want to play online you HAVE to have PSN+ as it costs to play online with people.PSN+ has been neat and it does auto backup your game saves. Games are tied to an account not hardware. Crossplay is great if you have a Vita. PS4 has the most 3rd party support so if a lot of 3rd party stuff appeals to you then year get one.

I have Fallout 3 and like any Bethsesda game they are vastly overrated with sub-par visuals and buggy as hell games they never fix and dated open world design. Vats system is cool but outside of that the only truly great Fallout games were from 1-2 on PC in the 90s.

I'ma go ahead and piggyback on Ryudo's post while clarifying things/throwing my own input into it

This is admittedly the complete opposite experience I've had, but I still love my Wii U...just need to play it more.

Get a 10 foot charge cable for the DS4 as the battery life is piss poor so may as well use it plugged in. Sorta true, though it's not as bad if you turn the light bar down.

There are no Demo's on PSN and it gives you no screenshots or vids like Eshop for games. This is semi-true. When you go to a game's page, you can view the community page which has various user-made screenshots, streams and I believe even custom videos made in sharefactory.

Still uses the PS3 system where want to buy a game for 3 bucks. Tough you have to add 5 bucks to your wallet. This is true, and it sucks very much.

The themes are junk. Dunno that I'd call them junk so much as there's not a lot of them. I love my Grim Fandango theme.

Every *larger retail game takes like *20-40GB of your HDD *depending on the title as most aren't optimized.

So get a 1TB or 2TB HDD for it and I mean buy a internal one as PS4 does not support External HDD. Good thing is replacing the internal HDD will not void the warranty.  Up to you, really. I'm doing fine on my 500GB and just swapping out game installs.

Just be aware of installs and long install times. Installs, yes. Install times...no idea where he's getting 'long install times' from. The longest I've had to spend installing a game was for Arkham Knight on account of it being huge, but pretty much every other retail game has taken ~20 seconds to install fully, save for patches.

If you want to play online you HAVE to have PSN+ as it costs to play online with people. PSN+ has been neat and it does auto backup your game saves. Games are tied to an account not hardware. Crossplay is great if you have a Vita. PS4 has the most 3rd party support so if a lot of 3rd party stuff appeals to you then year get one.  The other thing that should be mentioned is that PS+ gives you two to four games for no charge every month that're yours for as long as you're subscribed. It's a great deal so long as you have an open mind about the games you play.

I have Fallout 3 and like any Bethsesda game they are vastly overrated with sub-par visuals and buggy as hell games they never fix and dated open world design. Vats system is cool but outside of that the only truly great Fallout games were from 1-2 on PC in the 90s. Fallout 3 sucks. Like, it sucks. New Vegas was a heck of a lot better and Fallout 4 seems to look just as great.

Thaaat all being said. The Playstation 4 has a huuuuge amount of games that're a blast to play, especially if you like playing a bunch of different things. Tearaway: Unfolded, Uncharted Collection, Shovel Knight, MGS5, inFAMOUS, etc. Personally, I'd say buy one, but maybe wait to see if you can get a good black friday deal of some sort. There'll probably be all sorts of game/controller bundles for cheap.

Do what I did last year and build a pc. You don't pay to play online, can choose the hardware/game settings YOU want, access to steam which means huge savings on games, mods/user generated content, AND you get a very nice desktop.

PC + Wii U = I never need to buy a PS4 or Xbox One.

I had to wait a half hour for Dragon Age install and 20 minutes on Diablo and PS3 often does the same thing.

MGS5 can be played on PC or PS3 or 360 or XBO. Shovel Knight is on Wii U,3DS and PC. Tearaway on Vita. Those are not reasons to buy the system. In the west tho I bought Dragon Quest Heroes as I love DQ and want more western DQ games. 2016 EXCLUSIVES will justify the system for me. Other than that PS4 has sold on marketing but on games you can mostly play elsewhere already.

Huh...strange. Most of the PS4 games I've installed finished rather quickly...and usually, they have it set up so you can play to certain points in the games after installing it a certain amount.

Uh...I never said they were exclusives, but they are very much playable and available on the PS4, which is a good enough reason to list them as any.

If we're talking exclusives, well, then there's still inFAMOUS Second Son, inFAMOUS First Light, Uncharted, Bloodborne, Disgaea 5, Driveclub, Everybody's Gone To The Rapture, Gran Turismo 7, Kingdom Hearts 2.8HD Remix, Killzone: Shadowfall, etc. Combine those with third parties, decent sales on the PSN, PS+ games, and you've got a system worth buyin'.

I never thought I'd see Disgiea or anything from NIS used as a positive lol. None of that interests me and lot of it was shoved out. KH is one of the worst RPG series I own. Killzone was pretty mediocre. Bloodborne I love the art but the Souls games meh. More a SMT guy. Tho PSN+ let me play Rocket League wich was fun for a couple of weeks. Will come back to it someday.

That's what I was going to suggest... Until I saw he wanted to play Arkham Knight, with that and Battlefront being the only two games he's interested in.

Eeexcept I'm not using it as a positive for you, I'm using it as a list of exclusives that're on the PS4...most of which are fairly well rated
