The Nintendo DS has finally surpassed the PlayStation 2 and is now the best-selling video game platform. The Nintendo DS has sold 153.69 million units, while the PlayStation 2 has sold 153.68 million units. The Nintendo DS outsold the PlayStation 2 globally from the week ending December 8th. Let’s see if it can retain its position as the best-selling platform worldwide.

It was inevitable until the Nintendo DS surpassed the PS2. Sony isn't manufacturing PS2s anymore, so this was expected. Congratulations though to Nintendo, hopefully they get to keep this honor.

Wow, first the 3DS outselling the PS3s lifespan sales in less than two years, and now the DS outselling what was previously the best selling gaming platform ever (right?). I'm very proud of Nintendo. Even more reasons to laugh my ass off when people say "omg nintendo is doomed!!11". I don't think the Wii U will outsell the Wii eventually, but as long as it keeps outselling other consoles.. *evil laughter*.
Aside from the whole feel-good aspect about this, I'm also really happy for Nintendo. They're doing great in terms of sales lately, even with social games and smartphone games taking what many people call the lead, their own formula still proves powerful enough.

This doesn't surprise me. Awesomeness. When people own like 3 different variations of the system, It's bound to happen.
