In a much mis-quoted statement about Nintendo's new online services and the Wii U, I spotted this from Miyamoto; "Also by having the smaller screen, being able to go online and perhaps see what game your friend is playing or see what TV they're watching

That suggests a feedback from the T.V. to the console, if that is the case, could you watch T.V. on the new controllers screen, while playing on the T.V. screen? Makes me think the idea that the new controller might double as a "universal remote" is not so mad after all...then again.

It just seems every time that Nintendo say something, they are creating more questions than giving answers.

Ah Mistranslations, how I love thee :D He's probably talking in context of the Wii U menu or other built in software where you could keep track of other player's activities within their system.

Other than the ability to potentially publish Let's plays or take screenshots, I could care less, I'm not really an online fan and I really hate the achievement systems on PS3 and 360 but hey, if makes "teh hardcorez" happy then more power to them.

Yeah as you said it was lost in translation. It was discussed on another site about this and it was census that it was a translation problem. Confusion also draws interest and when everything is brought to life then all will be known.

Alas I believe he was referring to the 3DS in that particular sentence.

I doubt it. He's talking about the 'smaller screen'. If it's the 3DS, then what does the 'smaller screen' refer to? He's definitely talking about the Wii U here.

Also, it's not that hard to believe, though such a feature would undoubtedly be a Japan Exclusive. The 3DS in Japan has a TV channel and you can buy a TV guide for the DS and a TV tuner to watch Japanese programs.

I think he means that you can look at what you're friends are doing on the controller, without leaving the game just like the 3DS does.

I believe what was meant was:
- You can look at the Wii U controller, to see what game they are playing.
- Simultaneously, you can look at what program is being displayed on the TV.

But what was mistranslated was:
- You can stream TV to the Wii U tablet.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

Me think so too.
