Okay, where do I start?

Just after finishing Skyward Sword (fantastic game, by the way, if you haven't checked it out yet), I was looking up Nintendo on Wikipedia to see what's next for my favorite company. I saw that they we're making a new console! Excitement flowed through my 12 year old self and found out more. I was amazed at the controller and it was finally getting good third party support, or so I thought.

Then E3 happened, I was more excited than I have ever been in my short lifetime. At the end, I was a little disappointed but that disappointment soon went away a few days on. The Wii U could be the rise of Nintendo, I thought.

When I finally got the Wii U, I was thinking of the many possibility's. There were a few games that were skipping the Wii U but I didn't really care at the time.

That all changed in February though, the Wii U hadn't had a good game in around 3 months! Rayman was getting ported to other consoles (and delayed) and so did Ninja Gaiden. Scribblenauts Unlimited was also delayed, a game that I pre-ordered. I don't even think it will come to the UK anymore.

This situation got even worse when I found out that the next Battlefield and Metal Gear games weren't coming to the Wii U, a console that could easily handle those games. Companies saying that they weren't going to risk putting their games on there. I mean, COME ON!

I am absolutely sick of this. Nintendo has lied to us. Back when the Wii U was announced, they promised us good third party support throughout it's lifespan. That went out the window, didn't it? Us Nintendo gamers are being left out from some really cool games that would be awesome on the Wii U! EA said that the Wii U isn't part of their gaming plan and the Unreal Engine devs laughed when they mentioned the Wii U. Is something that us loyal fans paid around $350 on a joke? I think not.

And the Wii U's marketing is absolutely pathetic. I have not even seen an advert for the Wii U!!!! I've asked many people what the think about it and they don't even know what it is! What's Nintendo doing? I remember back in the days of the Wii, there was always adverts about the Wii. They were bad but they made do!

Another thing that I hate about the Wii U is that it is going to be CRUSHED by the Next Xbox and the PS4. At school, people are saying that they are going to buy one of them and leave the Wii U out. Why? Because the Wii U is not next-gen. I think that the Wii U is next-gen. It doesn't need to be powerful to be next-gen, it's when it comes out. But still, why did Nintendo make another console that is considered last-gen? Didn't they learn from the Wii?

Thanks for reading, if you did. Please don't have a go at me, I love the Wii U but I think Nintendo need to change their tactics. Sometimes I even think Iwata should step down, we need someone fresh and 'down with it' for a good future for Nintendo. Thank you.

You and a bunch of other doom and gloom people have made your point already. We get it. Wii U is dead, PS4/720 will own it. Blah blah blah. Nintendo is going 3rd party. We don't need 200 of these threads every day.

If we make our voice heard, someone at Nintendo will see.

The OP makes some good points,

Nintendo have not learned from the problems they have had in the past with third party developers & publishers, they have also not learned a single thing from the 3DS launch.

The WiiU advertising is none existent & where there is some it is either aimed at children or just plain patronising.

There is little point in saving up all the games for e3 because the X720 & PS4 will be showing off their games to, if all Nintendo have to show is Pikmin, Zelda & a Luigi game (first party games) then it will all be over, you may not like COD or Forza etc but the fact is that these games sell & more importantly they sell consoles.

When all these latest game engines were being developed the WiiU was in it's last stages of development, why weren't Nintendo working with them to make sure the engines would be on the WiiU, the fact is that if you build a game on the Unreal 4 engine for the X720 & PS4 it cannot be ported over to the WiiU.

If the developers & publishers don't see the WiiU as a next gen platform what chance has it got ?

Since you are only 12, you missed out on any good console Nintendo was involved with. SNES and N64 were the only good consoles this company ever made. If I was you, I'd try and find an original SNES (or even emulator online) and play some classics like Chrono Trigger and Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past.

If I was you, I'd be p!ssed off my parent's just bought me a brand new console that will be collecting dust in a few months. And if I assume correctly, probably won't buy you a 720 / PS4 knowing you just got a console a year ago.

Them the breaks kid... maybe write a letter to Nintendo and ask for a refund and threaten a class action law suit ;)

At least someone agrees with me, unlike the other two. :)

*sigh*

Here we go again.

How many times do these threads have to be made?

Epic Games confirmed this about Unreal Engine 4 MONTHS ago.

This 3rd Party problem has been with Nintendo for years, upon years now. Anything negative is to be expected.

Rayman being delayed is all Ubisoft's fault.

Is NG3: Razor's Edge even a big deal?

The only big problems for Nintendo: Architecture of the Wii U scaring 3rd Parties. Bad Marketing. Explaining the meaning of the Wii U.

THOSE problems are what need to be fixed.

Haha! I wish. I'm 13 btw and unfortunately have never had the chance to play their old games apart from Virtual Console. I will still buy the Wii U for exclusives.

Just hold off buying until games like 'X' start to come out.

Post more porn.

That's how you "take a break" from forums I hear.

Nintendo made 3 very good consoles besides those two.

NES, Wii, and I hear the Gamecube was fairly good too though I've only played a small few gamecube games as I've never owned an actual gamecube, and by the time I bought a Wii the games were hard to find and I already had a large backlog of Wii games to play on it.

Apart from a couple glimpses (X and Bayonetta 2 monster) no one has seen the real difference between Wii U and the competition. And just because so far not a single game has pushed Wii U`s power, it is, therefore, old gen.

But the most importante part is that even after so many generations, people either haven`t learned or just ignore the truth: power never put any console as generation leader.
And the reason is obvious: games sell systems. It does help to have hype but that`s not enough. If it was Nintendo and Sony would have never lost their marketshare.

Somehow people think that online gamers equals market!

Yeah, no.

N64 was the best console from Nintendo, but those are far from the only two good ones.  NES pulled an entire industry out of the ashes, and Gamecube was an amazing console that just didn't sell very well.

The Wii U won't be collecting dust in a few months.  On the other hand my 360 and PS3 were, because all of the games I wanted to play on those consoles, with the exception of Forza, came out on PC for less money and looked better.

True but it does deter whether or not third-parties will hop on your bandwagon smokin.gif

No, it doesn't.  Gamecube had the least third party support but was the most powerful console.  They complained that they couldn't do enough with the disks, then Retro Studios made them all look silly.
