Also, we wouldn't need mods if members could close/lock their threads.

Discussion on the topic is fine, I think discussion should be encouraged. It's not like an actual issue is going to come from this.

I'm not talking about an issue. I guess only GC does it then. When the question is answered you should lock the topic.

I typically did that, when Feldo was around, and still do for some questions. If people want to ask why they can't lock their own topics, I'm going to leave it open for that. I'm not clueless on how things were run before.

I'm not a fan of admins locking suggestion threads unless they give a definitive yes or no answer, and do so clearly.

I think members just randomly locking topics for no reason would get insanly annoying, especially if nothing bad is happening within them. If a member is getting sick of thier own topic they should just turn notifications off and ignore it and let others carry on with thier discussions.

There is no certain reason why users should lock their own topic.
