Wow Nintendo is really pushing people to buy games digitally. Not that it's a bad thing in this case seeing as how they're making incentives for consumers to buy online rather than you to, unlike some companies *cough* EA *cough*.

Nintendo ought to do more promotions like these to get much more sales. :P

Although I am from Europe and I will buy Pikmin 3 digitally, I would probably not take advantage of this offer, the game just doesn't look promising to me.

Personally, in terms of "normal" games, i only care about retail releases. But for people who have no problem in downloading stuff, it really is a great deal!

If downloading a full retail game wasn't such a bother (really, waiting more than 10-15 hours for it is annoying) I'd probably consider this offer. Also, I like to have the opportunity to trade in the game if I don't like it or, if I do like it, displaying it proudly on my shelf. Aaaand also I don't really want to get dedicated external drives for the Wii U, so 25GB of free space is a bit small to fill my HDD with full retail games.

I hope NA gets this deal too, especially as I'm planning on getting both! Kinda don't expect it to though. I think Nintendo is only showing this much Euro love because sales there have been low.

No way I'll download games on a 32GB HD.  Don't feel like shelling out or figuring out to rearrange my room to get access to another outlet for an external drive either.

You can always cancel your Shop To preorder.

I agree. Unless digital content is tied to the account rather then the console I won't be downloading any games at least retail ones.

The funny thing is some games are nearly impossible to fit into the system memory like Lego City: Undercover, which will take more than 20 GB. On the other hand, Pikmin 3 takes under 4 GB of space. What else will you use the storage for if not for games?

I just connected two 32gb USB sticks to it. Works wonderful.

I read somewhere that it's not a good idea to use USB sticks instead of external hard drives. I don't remember the exact reason but they are some limitations indeed.

Mmm...haven't noticed anything. I currently have some eshop games, Luigi Bros and mh3 running via the sticks. I hope I can redownload them after moving or deletion.

Yeah but my complaint is, I shouldn't be expected to buy extra storage to a device that already costs over $300. And since the console only comes with 25GB free storage, Nintendo shouldn't expect their customers to strongly adhere to digital downloads of full retail games.

This I have to agree with.
