Got this game today and love it :) the monsters playset is the only story ive done so far and i can say for a fact its very polished and it feels like a nostalgia shot to the face.

When i have more free time i plan on doing the other sets. From what i hear pirates of the carribean plays a lot like assassins creed.

What do you guys think? Did anybody else get disney infinity

I best stay away from it. I could easily spend the $385 minimum it would cost to unlock everything. 8)

Rather have a PS 4

I got the Starter Pack for Wii U, Cars and Lone Ranger Playsets. I also got 2 disc packs, if you want to count those too. I didn't do much with Monsters, only the first mission. This was the one I was most excited for at first, but another knocked it off the spot. The Incredibles was pretty cool, did the first few missions. I haven't had anytime with the Pirates, yet. Cars was really cool, you can transform some buildings into ramps and such, you also can race around. Lone Ranger was the one I spent the longest with, surprisingly. Probably my favorite one as of now. Shooting people with toy guns and riding horses around is really awesome.

Too pricey for me; Disney = the new EA. Why can't we just get a complete good-looking game on a decent price without spending a fortune? That's one of the very few things that form my decision not to get this game.

Ok what is the deal with these games and those figures? How does it actually work or what do they do? Sorry for the lack of research but I saw a game display and those pricey little figures. I thought they were action figures for little kids but had something to do with the game.

Here is the deal. Disney spent $100 million on this game/figure collecting travesty. The goal is for you to spend about $400 on what should be a $60 game.

These figures unlock certain "playsets" for you to Run and jump up and down in. Other things unlock cars, scenery and stuff. There is also a sandbox mode . You can look up all this stuff. I lost complete interest when I found out what the scam was.

The 3-packs and 2-packs are $15 and $20 at Wal-Mart but I'm still not touching this stuff.  Did Skylanders, probably more than $300 into that...that's it.  I'm not doing it again.  If anything, I'll do Swapforce so I can still at least use the ones I have even though there will be a bunch of new ones and I'll have to buy a new portal.

Also, Skylanders now (used) are dirt cheap.  Even if my kids eventually do get into this I'd wait six months to a year and get all the stuff at a steep discount.

This game is nothing like Skylanders, it's a huge sandbox game where you build whatever you want like Minecraft. It's so worth it.

I'm probably a hypocrite for buying into this game (and Skylanders), while heavily disagreeing with microtransactions and all that DLC stuff (on disc, over priced, etc.), but Disney Infinity is really fun. I tried a demo a few days back, and I really loved my experience with it. Haven't tried much of the regular campaigns, but the Toy Box mode is really fun. There's a decent amount of stuff to use in it without buying anything besides the game. It might be a cash in, considering there's so many figures, unneeded accessories (figure cases, all that stuff), and some others. But I think the core game itself is a really fun experience. I'm not planning to buy all of the stuff. I'll probably get the Monsters University, Wreck It Ralph, Phineas and Ferb, Toy Story, and Incredibles stuff (probably one or two figures for each series). Along with that lone Mickey Mouse figure. Not too interested in the Cars and Lone Ranger stuff, but might buy the playsets for them if the gameplay is fun (apparently these play sets, AKA campaigns go for 5-8 hours, not counting side missions. So I might bite just because they have a decent amount of content for the asking price).

Even though it is a cash grab, and it understandably will turn people off because of all the stuff that you need to buy (you literally need to buy extra figures to do co-op in the regular campaigns since they won't let you swap universes with characters. EX. No Jack Sparrow in the Incredibles campaign), and buying extra figures for co-op is pretty bad. Some people are probably gonna call me a corporate slave for buying in on this game, but I think the core game is fun enough to warrant at least another figure or two.

Just some questions I'd like to ask about the Wii U version. Is it a gimped port like other 3rd party Wii U games? I just wanna know if it has online play (level uploading and multiplayer), and doesn't have any cut content from the PS3/360 versions. I'm still a bit wary about getting the Wii U version. As they might not support it for patches or other stuff. Also, does the game freeze a lot? I've heard that it does, but I just want to make sure.

I'm buying it today. Freddies is giving a $25 gift card with it, so then its $45, and we have a $10 coupon, so Disney Infinty for $35. About. Would be stupid to not buying the starter pack then. I kinda was ehh really? with skylanders, because they made you buy more characters to beat the game, but each figure (from a different movie) gives you a whole new game, and I think thats worth it.
I hope a classic wave with Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh come along.

That actually turns me off even more.  I never "got" or saw the point to playing Minecraft.  But I readily admit I'm apparently in the minority there.  Regardless, more PS4 and XBOX 1 funds for me.
