"gift announcement coming soon."

No, the gold and platinum rewards. Usually something neat for platinum, a poster set, and some download codes.So by gifts do we mean new items to buy with coins?

No, yearly gifts for Gold or Platinum status. Last year I was platinum and chose the Majora's Mask CD soundtrack. It shipped near the end of the year.
Hoping for DKCTF soundtrack or SM3DW

Sweet! I'm platinum status. I wish they'd put up better rewards though.
I agree.. been slim pickings for months. Once and a while something nice comes around and it sells out within minutes... 3dsxl charging cradle/dock

Yeah what I got last year was the OST. Had enough coins to just get the posters later. Mad Plat again this year so excited.

In Australia we don't have any status system, we just get "Stars" and wait for something that isn't a pair of shoelaces to show up and grab it before it's gone.
We get no prizes or Christas gifts. We do get screwed though.

,With the exception of the 3 gold coins for buying Xenoblade,The last Story and Pandoras Tower which I did and a old bud promised to send them....never did lol tho he has them or had at least.

The dates where they've announced the Plat/Gold rewards vary between years. Last year they announced/opened orders on July 15th, and on July 7th two years ago. So we'll be waiting two weeks for the announcement and to place our order. As for the reward itself, I'd love another game soundtrack, especially if it's Tropical Freeze. I was thinking about an Amiibo, but since they're not out yet, it'd be better suited for next year.

Hope they give away codes for games. Since now I live in Bolivia they wont ship anything here. Or at least give the option to choose between physical rewards or downloadable free games

I am waiting... maybe 2015 will be newly stocked with some physical items again.
