Hello All

I'm very new to the wii u world, thanks to my 5 year old son.  One strange thing I've noticed is that for some reason games are dramatically cheaper on Amazon than they are anywhere else, whether online or brick 'n mortar.  Am I missing something?  I'm looking to get COD: Ghosts but it's like $25 cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else... so are their other wii u games.  Any input would be most appreciated.

it depends on certain factors. many brick and mortar stores keep the suggested retail price simply because of what they paid wholesale for the stock. some games get officially discounted or lowered depending upon how long the game has been out but still the best deals can usually be found online. 1st party games tend to keep their retail price but many 3rd party games get put on sale or slashed in price as they don't sell as often or are cleared out for the "new" entry in a game series. Example: Black Ops 2 was placed on sale/clearance across many stores as the release of Ghosts came closer.

Zombi U in my local target is 49.95 but on Target's online store it is $29.99 . With Amazon, a 3rd party seller doesn't have to keep stock as drop shipping is often used. This also allows some sellers to keep lower prices.

Some stores do price matching too, so it's always a good idea to ask if you are in store.

I would say stop do not buy Cod.  Every time someone buys cod a kitten is slaughtered and turned into Kids Meal Chicken Nuggets.

Get a WONDERFUL game instead. The WONDERFUL 101!

Yeah, online prices are typically a lot lower than in an actual store. But Zombi U and Splinter Cell (3rd party games) are only going for $19.88 at my local walmart while Lego City (1st party? 2nd party? Idk) is still going for $49.88.

I've wondered how this works-  I guess it's more a true reflection of supply and demand.  But I wonder how these buyers are able to get these at the price that they get them and still manage to sell for a profit.  It was interesting b/c on another thread, somebody was wondering if they should get AC4 on their PS4 or Wii U- he had said that for whatever reason that he wanted the Ps4 version.  I pointed out that while the PS4 version is better, is it worth $55 vs. less than $20 on the Wii U (and around $20 for the XBone?).....
