I hope it includes a lot of power ups like in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

To be honest, this is the first mario that i am really excited for. I have NO idea why.. but it is. You know what would be cool? Nintendo putting every single power-up from every game in this game.. but, you know, that would take time to make.
That would be awesome.
But there is no way.

Also, it seems like the classic ones, which I like. (Sidescrolling Only)
Edit: A lot of power-ups would be cool.

I'm excited about it because it seems like another big title and a glimpse of the next generation's Mario game.

2D Mario is my favorite also.
Super Mario 3D Land lacked a good amount of power-ups. (Only 3. New Super Mario Bros. Wii had 5.) Correct me if I am wrong though.

I like both though, and will likely get both. (2D and 3D)
Power-ups never hurt as well.
Unless they were planning on using all the original ones or something.

Yeah, I love both versions, but I like 2D slightly better.
Just the original ones would be too dull. (Only Fire Flower.)

In some old ones I think they had a few.Yeah, I love both versions, but I like 2D slightly better.

Maybe take off where the last Super Mario Bros. (3, New SMB, or a something totally new.) took place along with a few new powers.
I'm assuming that It'll take off where New Super Mario Bros. left off and add (maybe powers, refinement, etc.) to that.

- Rainbow Star
- Racoon Tail(Tanooki Tail??)
Power ups which HAVE To come:
- Super Mushroom(DUH!)
- Fire Mario(Double DUH!)
So till now we have 4 power ups.
I don't know why but I think that the Ice Mario power up will come back.
Now all we need is Grass and Water Mario!
Oh! Oh! Oh! And What about Online Co-Op? I mean, Sonic 4 Episode 2 is having it, so NSMB2 can also have it! We could have 6 player Co-Op or Battle! Mario Lugi Wario Waluigi(Maybe not him) Yellow Toad and Blue Toad. We could also have Princess Peach and Daisy.

NSMB2 should have online multiplayer just like (or similar) to the multiplayer in the original New Super Mario Bros.

You could unlock new parts by getting enough points.
Points never really did anything before, did they?

Yeah, 3 images really do tell the story of the entire game and how it's going to play.Totally not into this installment. Looking at the pics released so far, it is basically just like the last two NSMB games that have basically similar level design, stale gameplay, and a terrible co-op mode.
I agree completely with you.

Au contraire. Look at the excitement for NSMBWii and then how it was received. The co-op was terrible, the level design was generic and not appealing, and power-ups like Penguin and Ice Flower were just cookie-cutter items.
Nintendo likes to stay at it's stubborn course as history tells us, so why expect anything more from them?

Why is the penguin suit liked at all?! It was ice flower with sliding...
Needs more varied power-ups, even if they just bring back old ones.

Maybe it's just nostalgia, but Super Mario World was like thee best mario game. The yellow cape, star road, Yoshi's debut.
Super Mario Bros. 3 is a close 2nd.

I liked the co-op.
Oh man, that mode was so horrendous. Whoever thought of the bright idea to pick up your characters and just send them packing is an idiot. I can understand if it was Battle Mode or something, but when you're actually doing a level together, they should not have so many goddamn "friendly" fire options.
