Why when I'm in Miiverse and hit the home button, why does it exit Miiverse? Annoying...

You guys don't have to be ignorant. If I hit the home button in any other app or game it opens the menu with friends list and download manager and everything, and hitting it again would simply put me back in my game. Hitting the home button in Miiverse brings me straight to the menu and I have to reopen Miiverse again.

I agree with the threadstarter. It is annoying. Pressing home closes it and then you have to go through the process of waiting for it to load again. I accidentally press home all the time, lol.

I never even noticed this, at all. Either this doesn't bother me as much as the OP, or I'm more ignorant than I thought. :/

It's because it's a multi-tasking app like the web browser or the eShop. It doesn't suspend because it doesn't need to. For instance: If you were playing a game and wanted to post on Miiverse, you wouldn't be able to access it because it would require leaving the game you are on. I have no complaints. It doesn't take more than a few seconds to access Miiverse anyway. No complaints here.

I see why they did that for the internet browser. It makes a lot of sense.

Nothing to complain about. All the built-in apps on the Wii U do this. It's really nothing to worry about if you just be careful not to hit the home button; that shouldn't be too hard.

I agree it is annoying. My perspective is, its small and not a big issue, but its the small things that make a good experience into a great one. Nintendo should never stop with "good enough".

I've never accidentally hit the home button, It's that when I see that blue light flashing, I like to see who had jumped online. I don't even bother now though until I'm done Miiversing it up.

Yes it makes sense to do this for the multi-tasking apps, but that should also mean they stay in RAM so that when you return to them its instant and you are exactly where you left.

This is why the Wii U feels so unfinished. Why reserve 1GB of the RAM for the OS yet have little niggles like this? It just sounds like they intended all this stuff to remain in RAM but the OS is still in Alpha so it hasn't all been merged together seamlessly yet.

No doubt it's a minor complaint, but we're in 2012 and this isn't much to ask for, it can get annoying because all those loading screens add up and it feels like a chore getting through them.
