There was a certain undescribable element that was lost in games after the age of the PS1/N64. I feel that Skylanders Giants has brought that back. But with much better graphics.

I can see why this game is for adults as well as kids. It's a rather general game, like Pokemon but even more adult-oriented than that, if such a thing is possible. Placing a Skylanders action figure on a USB device called a Portal brings to life a character in the game. You will soon find yourself wanting to rush out to the store to buy more Skylanders action figure packs.

The Wii U version features characters stats on the Gamepad which you can look down at. While this doesn't sound very exciting, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Unfortunately, there are actually some very good Wii U games. New Super Mario Bros. U and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, for example. This will actually bring down my score slightly. There are simply better games to play. This game is well-rounded, and gives you that nostalgia trip, but it's not extraordinary. If however you have played the best of the best already, Skylanders Giants is a great addition to your library.

My score: 8.5/10

How does the fact that there are better games to play bring down your score? There will always be better games, the fact that there are better games to play has nothing to do with the actual game.

A 10 should be reserved for some of the best games on a system, or one's idea of what the best game would be. My idea of what one of the best games on Wii U would be isn't fulfilled, nor is this game the most fun I have had playing a game on it. That title goes to New Super Mario Bros. U, which I would give a fair 9/10 to and is my current favorite Wii U game, and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, which I would rate 8.9/10 and is my second favorite Wii U game.

We worried about this as our boy is 5 but the game has an easy setting and he is now moving through the game nicely and levelling up the characters quite quickly as well.

He is a massive Mario fan but has barely touched Mario U since he started playing Skylanders! I don't play the game myself but I can see the appeal of it for young kids.

The great thing is that if he does get stuck you can simply put another character on the portal and help them out!

I love this game. I have it on hard so it plays like a Pokemon Diablo. Its challenging enough for someone my age but addicting enough for people of all ages.

i'm turning 35 in 2 month, and i loved it :) sure, it was easy (and not that long) but when you finnish the game the first time, you get the option to play it on a even harder setting.

tbh i didn't think i would enjoy this game when i picked it up, but i did... i loved it :) now i'm gonna pick up some more skylanders so i can unlock everything :P

If you like games like Diablo & Torchlight, then give this game a try, i gave it a 9.
