It has been out for three days, and SimCity is broken. Seriously, unplayably broken. As a long-time fan who's been looking forward to this week for many years, this is a huge, frustrating disappointment. The worst part? The main issue isn't with the game itself, but an entirely unnecessary and completely avoidable always-online Digital Rights Management (DRM) system that's keeping millions of fans from playing the game they paid for, when they were told they'd be able to play it. If there is one good thing that comes of this disaster, let it be yet another lesson to publishers like EA and Activision/Blizzard, and platform owners Microsoft and Sony, who may be considering always-on DRM in next-gen consoles or PC games: don't even think about it. It's a pipe dream, and to attempt it is to invite an enthusiasm-draining catastrophe with every single game launch.

Wow.

Major respect for IGN, they are speaking the truth.

Hope EA learns their lesson for this "experience".

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect :)

The problem isn';t even the DRM.

It's EA only wanting to purchase so many servers.

The game itself is buggy as hell too.

Roads are laughable because if you don't laugh you rage hard

The terrain is horribly buggy pretty much any time you try to place anything substantial.

Thee's at least 5 bugs in regional/city view changing I've seen in the 6 hours I've been able to play it.

What did IGN give this game?

I'de give it a 4/10 if I was rating it.

6/10 if they fixed the servers by buying some.

DRM is a load of b****cks! EA suck, the gaming industry needs another crash so these stupid companies can be taken down a peg or two. Innovation is lost and the consumer dosn't matter anymore as long as their corporate pockets are filled, we the consumer are treated like sh!t now. A crash needs to happen, people need to speak with their wallets.

It's quite buggy.

About as buggy as every other recent game, nothing special.
