So do you guys think Disney are scrapping any M rated Star Wars titles because they have an image to uphold? Or do you think they'll allow Star Wars 1313 to happen?

I think it'll happen. Nothing I've seen of it would suggest an M rating, though. It's likely to get a T rating.

Disney don't have an image of the sort.

Besides, where's the violence in 1313? we only saw a 10 second trailer 15 years ago.

1313 may never even come out, it was put on hold. If it does I'd suspect a T rating on it though...but who knows.

It's only been put on hold because of the new trilogy. Why would they stop it?

Because wasn't it aimed at a more mature audience? Disney might not want that.

I'm sick of people assuming all of Disney's business decisions revolve around them being "child-friendly". If this game was pretty much completed and originally planned to be M rated before Disney bought Lucasfilm, I doubt Disney would cancel it just because of it's rating as that wouldn't make very much business sense. Disney are multi-media corporation, they don't just make kids' films. I believe Disney cancelled it because some of the storylines may interfere with the stories they have planned for future films:

One source mentions that Lucas "loved" the game and encouraged the developers to weave stories and characters from his scripts. The game's storylines would answer such questions as "Who is Boba Fett?", "Why was Han working for Jabba?" and "Who were the Bothan spies?"

source: http://kotaku.com/59...ncertain-future

Considering Disney apparently have plans for some spin offs like a young Han Solo film and the origin of Boba Fett, you could understand how some of the storylines in the game could interfere with the films.

On another note, people that make these "child friendly" comments are the same ones who say "the new films are gonna be for kids". Newsflash- they have always been for kids. Just because fans of the original trilogy have grown into adults doesn't mean the franchise should cater to them. The whole point of the new films should be to bring Star Wars to a new generation.

My sentiments too. Its truly baffling people's skewed views of Disney. I don't know if its out of ignorance or something else. Whilst Disney's primary business may be animated movies and related products they do also make more mature content too. They own both Touchstone Pictures and ABC both of which have produced more adult oriented content. I don't think Disney has ever tried to convey an image that makes them a kid focused company only.

Kids buy games because it has Mickey Mouse on it, not because they see a Disney label on the corner of the box. Knowing that, there's no reason why they wouldn't do that.

Star wars could of been put in much worse hands than Disney.

Even if it does'int do amazing,It'll still be decently good.

The film series is perfect for Disney, but this game may not have been! Star Wars films (originals) are good family films. The prequels were horrific because no-one challenged George Lucas' creative and marketing ideas, they just all thought the originals were created solely by him, which they weren't. Han Solo was a fish man for crying out loud. Anyway mini George Lucas rant over. Now they may have a new creative direction that may have a chance of being decent. i myself wont bother until the critics dig into it. i'm not falling for the trap again after being bitten by both the prequels and Indy 4.Anyway Disney = Perfect for both Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

This game was supposed to be a gritty more adult story (apparently). Now while Disney can push the boat out a bit I feel it will be at least delayed  to be toned down a bit, and of course the plot's details to coincide with the new Trilogy

disney decides now and its a good thing, if they ever decide to do it.... Disney loves nintendo lol

In the other hand, I can confirm that even the official facebook page is dead... They have to renew it since last September. LoL

The THQ page is more alive than lucas starwars 1313.

It doesn't work that way. He has sold everything lock stock and barrel including Lucas Film, Lucas Arts and ILM.

If Disney was going to scrap Star Wars 1313 for being too violent then they wouldn't have bought Star Wars in the first place. The entire series is built on a galatic conflict which is fought with blasters, lightsabers and thermal detonators. Let's not forget the Skywalker curse where they seem to have a problem keeping their limbs attached and contracts for Han Solo's head. Besides Pirates of the Caribbean is Disney and that's a little on the violent side.

I feel that Disney put the project back under the veil because they are a little more secretive than most companies, or at least I hope that's what they're doing.
