Highly likely the 360, PS3 and wii u versions will be very similar and all will be running at 720p 30fps thereabouts. I think as with Criterion's wii u racer the wii u may benefit from improved textures which will put it in the middle ground slightly beyond ps3 and 360.

Never listen to developers or publishers for realistic information though. We will only know what its really like when we see it. Remember all that rubbish about Black ops 2 being 1080p on wii u only to end up being the same sub 720p resolution as 360 and PS3.

I'm more interested in the possibilities of the gamepad and how it can enhance the game.

Why aim for 60 anyway? And 720p is still HD, so nothing bad.
No sig.

Unless your HD tv is bigger then 36", you can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p anyway.

I've always wondered why everyone is so hyped by 1080p, I have a 32" screen that supports 720p and 1080p and I can barely tell the difference in games. Thanks for explaining :D

Plus the fact I'm far away from the TV and I'm concentrating on actually playing the game itself that it makes no difference to me either.

Yeah, it's all down to the size of the screen bud, I'm on a 55" and can tell the difference. It's not a massive difference but it's enough to easily notice the sharper clarity in 1080p.

720p 60fps is still a lot more than 720p 30fps. Perhaps the next gen consoles will support 1080p 30fps in other games. The resolution is such a tiny part of the graphics equation though. A game could be practically photorealistic at 480p or horrifically poor at 2160p. It's clear people here have different views on what the wii u is capable of, for me its going to be marginally ahead of 360/PS3 but nowhere near PS4/Xbox 720 standards overall. Currently the wii u is averaging below PS3/360 overall but its highly likely to improve. Sonic transformed is actually lower resolution on wii u than 360 and PS3 for example.

I really hate the 30fps on consoles nowadays. It really annoys me, because I grew up with 60fps, it's literally etched into my brain. I automatically can tell when a game is only running at 30fps and it feels so slow and partially unresponsive. If the game is fun enough I can bear it, but sometimes it can ruin the gameplay altogether. There is no need to make the game 30fps just so they can make the graphics slightly better. That's one thing I like about Nintendo actually, most of their games run at 60fps and I think that's part of the reason why their controls are so silky smooth. It seems like most third parties just don't care about gameplay/controls nearly as much as they used to.

Maybe you can't. I certainly can. I have a 32" 1080p TV and I can tell the difference.
