smh are you nintendofans that ignorant?

mr. Riccitiello had nothing to do with eas business decisions nor their attitude towards nintendo

He, as CEO, would have been instrumental in trying to come to a business agreement with Nintendo.  He would have been there for the pitch, he might have even given the pitch.

He probably gave guidance that led to the company's dropping games for the Wii U.  I doubt middle management would have taken it upon themselves to crap all over an entire platform without executive guidance, so his attitude toward Nintendo would be the company's attitude toward Nintendo.

This either means that EA will stop becoming butt-hurt mother doges OR that the new CEO will be even worse.

I'm hoping there is a faint chance that Crysis 3 will be reinstated with a special edition on the Wii U

These CEO's don't fall to far from the tree....I look for this next one to be worse.

The only thing this new CEO can do for me, which he wont, is not renew the NFL exclusive license.

hopefully they get someone better.

no surprise stocks rose, EA was voted worst company, more people see this as EA trying to fix itself, than hurting itself.

or did microsoft refuce EA's deals just like ninty, and later sony, did. (EA wasnt at sony reveal, likly for similar reasons.)

But his succesor is no outsider with a fresh vision. He was there with all the decision the EA staff made :(

Probst is the son of Ruth (née Gallagher) and Lawrence F. Probst, Jr.[5] Probst worked for Johnson & Johnson and later on Clorox before being recruited into the video game industry through Activision in 1982. He holds a Bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Delaware. In 1984 he joined EA as Vice President for Sales. He is the current Chairman and former Chief Executive Officer of the company. When President and Chief Operating Officer John Riccitiello resigned in April 2004, Probst assumed his duties. After Riccitiello was re-hired as CEO in 2007, Probst retained his non-operational duties as Chairman.

According to EA's 2005 Annual Report, Probst is the biggest individual shareholder in EA, owning 739,761 shares and the right to acquire a further 3.1 million, which combined accounts for 1.2 percent of the company. Probst sits on the boards of two cancer research groups: the V Foundation[6] and ABC2.[7]

We need to hire the dream team to change the Son's mind

Spoiler

In other thoughts Riccitiello was given a golden handshake with 2 years full pay. Looks like the guy was forced/payed to step down.

Stock always goes up after a CEO leaves, stock-holders welcome in a new era in which a change of direction will come, and produce more profit.

He'll only be replaced by someone just as bad as him, there is nothing to celebrate here.

However EA we'll go through another CEO a few years after the new CEO just repeats what Riccitiello did, and eventually someone who does something different will arrive. So whoever the next in line is - they'll probably at least want to give an impression that things are changing before reverting to EA's old ways ;) <---why does this wink always look like his face has melted off?!?

ea must fire him and request all the money back, from his payments.

But even though, they are so corrupted, there is no turning back... EA will fall like a domino....

a question and a poll to all of u...

" DO YOU TRUST EA / ORIGIN " ?

because this scumbug will leave, but we all know EA, not rigatoni.  If a company lose its trust in the market and consumers... they normally shut down.

Maybe once Wii U sales pick up, EA can rekindle that promise they made at E3 2011...

WoooooooooooooooooooooooooHoooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant news, but do you reckon it's too late for EA to change or do you think they will? Personally I think they are too long in the tooth now to change.

He's not the successor but the interim CEO until EA finds someone permanent. That's what is says in that article.

I hate to sound cynical but that's very likely. A new CEO is not likely to change anything for the better especially where Nintendo is concerned.

LOLOL
Is it possibly because of the EA-Nintendo problem though?
