I've never really seen this series, I have seen advertisements of it though and it looks good!

I've considered getting into it from time to time, but I never have. My main question is if the character himself is true to his comic character and gets to play his ideals off of others or not.
The strongest Arrow stories were always when he was with the Green Lantern or the Question, as GL was a space cop and (the old) Question was an objectivist. The JLU series also had a great Arrow portrayal.

I don't read a lot of comics, but from what I know, Oliver Queen isn't really like his comic book self. Here he actually kills people and doesn't do a lot of other stuff that comic book Ollie does; however, he is slowly turning into his Oliver from the comics.
