I remember making a status update about this a good while ago, probably a month or two after launch.
But now it's version 1.0 and supports transcoding (makes videos playable on console on the fly).
It's much improved, and I only had trouble with a few m2ts and mkv's I had that aren't exactly standard.

It's pretty good all and all.

Also, the guy has this as an aside: http://vidiiustreame...wiictochat.html works on the upad, pretty nifty.
Twitter says he might be into getting the web framework kit, so we might even get a nice (semi)native app for the console if that happens.

It plays video files in your browser.

Tried it. To explain it allows you to stream video files from your PC to your Wii U's Browser allowing you to watch video files that had been downloaded.

My tests with it show it works awesome with shorter shows (1min - 45min) but movies error out, this could be due to a configuration issue though.

I finally understood what this does. Nintendo should support this!

Nintendo should be building this functionality into their OS.  For them to officially support it it must have licensing for all of the codecs involved.  Unless the VLC team wanted to make a Wii U app.

Or that option, too. Nintendo could make their own app - which people would like a lot!

Technically they did, they're using mp4 and vorbis i think.

I'd like something more polished though. Native app would be great.

http://www.mediafire...iiUStreamer.zip without the adfly.
I don't know if it's legit or if the adfly money goes to the developer, so I wouldn't advice downloading this.

The Vidiuu developer has always used her domain for downloads, so yeah.
