"We will not be releasing a Wii U version of Madden NFL in 2013. However, we have a strong partnership with Nintendo and will continue to evaluate opportunities for delivering additional Madden NFL products for Nintendo fans in the future." - EA statement
This is the first time since 1991 EA will keep Madden from going to Nintendo consoles.
Sorry to those who are Madden fans and wanted the next installment on the Wii U.

Oh no I am so devastated I will not get to play a football game........I see people playing football in the park, I might aswell play the real thing instead of being a social reject.

A local retro video game store were giving away old Madden & NHL games away for free. They had about 70+ copies and no one wanted any of them. This just goes to show you football games are worthless.

Madden is a very popular series in the states, so this is far from irrelevant.
But coming from EA, what to expect... Indeed a strong relationship: no madden, no Dead Space, no BF4.

While a lot of people don't play madden, a lot of people do. I for one love sports games (real football games however, not this phoney baloney American Football rubbish).
It's quite a blow when Nintendo has received Madden games since 1991, and this one is the 25th anniversary version, It would not take much to quickly port it to the Wii U to keep some fans happy would it?
I'm just wary that we won't get FIFA 14 or the (hopefully) inevitable FIFA World Cup game. I have got every World Cup game since 1998 and have no plans of stopping this (a new world cup game is like a new Zelda game for me).

Well, apparently EA made the right decision because absolutely no Wii U fan appears to want a sports game because apparently everyone of them exercises regularly outside and that makes a football game lame. . .For the few of us that realize that there will now be no official NFL game on the Wii U (and realize that's a pretty big group of players that WONT be buying a Wii U) it kind of sucks. I'm not a madden fan, but EA sports games are like Mcdonalds. Every town has them. While Nintendo will survive without third party games (for now) it doesn't bode well to expanding their player base.
Honestly the attitude of some Wii U fans bothers me more than anything else. If a game is coming to the Wii U, "ITS THE DEFINITIVE VERSION!!!! IM TOTALLY GETTING IT!!!" vs if it's not "meh. . .i hate that game anyways". According to most of us the Wii U miraculously doesn't get sucky games and only gets definitive versions. Pretty amazing right? When will we realize that any game coming means more players, better gaming experience, more money for Nintendo = GOOD

1. this has nothing to do with nintendo, this is EA continuing to be silly because of the whole "orgin" thing.
2. getting madden this year, even last year for that matter, means nothing. Wii-u madden isn't going to sell systems, and for the ones who have wii-u's it wont sell enough to justify. A lazy company like EA isn't going to bother making changes to madden for the sake of nintendo just to MAYBE sell a little under million copies.
