Looks like its just EA being high and mighty and on another good note i saw a WiiU/Lego city TV advert on ITV which is one of the UK's main channels, featured right in the middle of Coro soap. The advert will not of been cheap...

Anyway below is a good bit from Ubisoft.

Publisher confident that "Nintendo will take steps to ensure that the Wii U is successful in the market”

The proverbial rainbow hit the fan this week when Electronic Arts confirmed that it no longer has any Wii U games in development and that it's essentially backing away completely from the Nintendo console. The move, which provoked much discussion on the web (including from our European editor Matt Martin), is certainly a bad omen for the Wii U business, but French publisher Ubisoft is sticking by Nintendo.

As one of the strongest supporters of Wii U from the beginning, Ubisoft would still appear to be 100 percent committed to the platform with a host of different titles, despite the fact that Nintendo hasn't been able to build up a solid installed base.

When approached by GamesIndustry International about whether the company may reevaluate its stance on devoting resources to a struggling platform, a spokesperson told us, "As with any new console, it takes some time to grow an established base. Ubisoft has a varied and high-quality line-up for Wii U, with more big titles on the way including Rayman Legends, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and Splinter Cell Blacklist. We're confident that this will help in continuing to attract gamers to the Wii U system and that Nintendo will take steps to ensure that the Wii U is successful in the market."

Nintendo has a hard road ahead of itself with the Wii U, but the company has to be happy that it has a friend in Ubisoft.

Can't say I'm surprised. However, this makes me want Ubisoft and Nintendo to collaborate on a game some day. That would be cool.

Sounds like someone's been taking their medication in the gaming industry for once.

This is the way its suppose to be folks. When I see what EA is doing it think they deserve their worst company titles. Its about the games and the gamers. To totally abandon a 6 month old platform is unheard of. They are so money hungry that its all they can think about and in the process a lot of gamers with Nintwndo consoles arwe gonna miss out on some games. I would love for the other Majors in the damn industry to take a stand and support Nintendo to show EA their douchbags and deserve a fate worse tan THQ.

I don't know when it happened, but I think EA abandoned the Dreamcast too. Obviously for different reasons. I think Sega made their own sport games, too. Didn't they?

Nice to see that Ubi's backing up the Wii U. Just more proof that Activision, Warner Bros, and EA need to step their game up in terms of support. But it's strange how Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon and Call of Juarez Gunslinger weren't released on the eShop.

Wouldn't it be cool of Nintendo or SEGA announced they were making their own sports game that crushes madden or whatever EAs crappy hockey game is called. Hopeful thinking though...

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect :)

yah, super Football U. You don't actually have any of the players that exist in real life, but hey, you get yoshi as a running back instead.

I was really excited about this when I first heard it. But now not so much. Why isn't ubi saying anything about the games they have in development for Wii U. I've read like 5 previews for the PS4 version of watch dogs but not one for Wii U. We will see how much they really support nintendo when those ports are released.
