I've been playing a lot of off tv play recently because my tv has been seriously occupied. I've been freezing almost continuously the past few days. Especially during Monster Hunter Online. Could the off tv play be causing this?

Um, I wouldn't think so.

But try playing on your TV and see if it freezes just in case.

Anything's possible.

It's more likely your console done got nudged or something and isn't getting enough air.

Or just seems like a lot of freezing.

Off TV play = your gamepad screen is replaced with your TV screen. I have no idea how that can freeze your Wii U. (Unless there was a giant bug walking around the code)

The thing is is that I've never froze this much. At the same time, I haven't done this much off-tv play.

Probably more correlation than causation.

Probably move your Wii u to your router, that is the most common thing about Wii U freezing because its trying to giver updates on Miiverse while playing your game. I never use my TV to play Wii U games anymore, I just find a plug and start playing and it never freezes at all for me.

The problem is is that I have to connect my wii u via wired since I'm in college. And the connection sucks so bad that a WIRED CONNECTION DROPS OUT. CONSTANTLY.

And there's no way for me to fix it because the ethernet ports are mounted to the wall..
