So, I've been playing Resident Evil: Revelations all day, and I have to say, entering the Hall and hearing this play was perhaps one of the most effective music pieces I've heard in a video game for a very long time.

I also immensely enjoyed this the first time I heard in Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge. It was somewhat reminiscent of Final Fantasy at some parts.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

Metroid Prime and Gravity Rush soundtracks really tickle my fancy.

Rayman Origins is also quite good.

I'm very indecisive so I'll leave it at that before I make a list larger than existence itself.

This statement is false. The previous statement is true.

RIP in peace Nintendo.

The words are in italian by the way, yes they include what was in the game. Uematsu actually wrote an entire opera act for FF6. Its melody became Celes' theme, and played prominately during her attempted suicide. This song was tweaked (butchered) into aeris theme for ffvii in order for uematsu to meet a seemingly insane deadline.

Another Uematsu masterpiece from ff6. Terras theme. Since squaresoft made ff6 as an rpg that 'starred all main characters', Uematsu had a 'main theme quality peice' for practically all of them, and their themes all change as the characters develop. I could literally post each characters main theme. How hard it must have been to have his vision restricted to 8 bit sound.

Rather than posting 20 video links for one game, I'll post an orchestrated version of the ending theme which was an overture breifly covering all themes.

and part 2.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecoS_WcvvRo

The way squeenix has completely butchered these characters personalities in their appearences in kingdom hearts and dissidia is enough to nearly make me cry (though not enough to keep me from maining terra... though on the bright, er dark side? I feel Dissidia's representation of Kefka was pretty dang good). I guess thats what happens when there is no one left at the company to remind them who they are supposed to be.

Monolithsoft and mistwalker need to team up, to make something this magical again.

Man, I didnt even get past the first game on my list....

I love lots of games music.

When I think of games that I've played recently Clouberry Kindom comes to mind.

This one definitely captured the feel of the game:

But when I think of gaming overall my favourite gaming music is just ALL of the Brawl soundtrack.

The music in that game was just so perfectly done, all remastered or done with a full orchestra. It's just incredible.

I mean, this song is freakin' incredible! And lots of the other songs were already iconic before being redone for this game.

Brawl is my favourite game ever.

I really dug this tune from Skyrim very pretty and captures the feeling of walking by the river, just very peaceful.

Hip Tanaka's original Metroid theme. Possibly one of the most misunderstood peices of music in videogames.

Mr. Tanaka wrote a beautiful melody, and paired it with another Cacaphonic/alien space chords, and an ominous dark, disturbing counter melody.

Tanaka made sure that the theme was never once heard during the course of the game until after mother brain was defeated. He intended it to be a sort of 'catharsis' a purification or purging of emotions like fear, through art, in this case music.

Although, I believe the nes was simply to primitive to be a vessel for his vision. But thinking about it, it was really quite the vision. Metroid was inspired by the horror film Alien, (directed by RIDLEY Scott) so there was very much the intention of making the player experience fear, and then having it cleansed by a powerful work of music. Well it was quite the vision to have back in the 8-bit 'save the princess because' days.

Unfortunately, Tanaka's vision has mostly been lost. His theme has been split into two parts, the dark menacing counter melody part has been known as 'the metroid title theme' and the melody has been relegated to menus like in zero mission, and for metroid battle...

But seperated, the song just doesnt have the impact Mr. Tanaka desired. It needs that contrast.

Its very hard to find a properly done metroid theme, as its been so segmented and misunderstood. However, this fellow, knows what it was supposed to be. Props to this man.

I have to say Mr. Tanaka. It works quite well.
