Since I was a kid, my parents watched these TV shows, the first one was the Twilight Zone, I swear when i heard that theme, I really wanted to turn off the TV, but when I started seeing the show instead of focusing the intro, it was moderately scary, just that bone chilling theme. not like a zombie or a monster popping out but its psychologically scary thinking of that think of story happening to someone.

 

I rarely watched the X Files, the only thing i can remember from the show was a severed head found in a bucket in a prison. But that intro really freaked me out, the way it shows UFO's and everyone thought it was real at the time. My dad use to whistle the theme to scare me when i was young. 

 

 

 

 

Oh and 1 liiiiiiiiiittle note. If you're watching the X files intro.....DON'T LOOK AT 0:12 Gave me nightmares for about 3 months......

I would say neither show. Both show's have a rather SCI-FI approach theme, instead of being scary or horrifying. Are You Afraid Of The Dark is a better example when it comes to "scaring" you.

I find the X Files theme to be too ambient to be that scary.

They aren't scary, either of them...  But the Twilight Zone theme is the superior theme.

but for actual shows it's X-Files for me because I find government conspiracies and aliens really interesting and sp00ky

I vote Twilight Zone, but both shows themes and the shows themselves used to really get to me as a child.
