I don't see the point in complaining about your name choice.

 

Everywhere lese lets you change your username, so it doesn't sink in that for the Wii u you have to be abso-horsing-loutely positive you will not have to change your name.

 

Even I had to change my name because I wasn't 100% comfortable having my last name in my NID. But because I wasn't sure about Nintendo's policy I called them and discovered i'd lose all of my eShop stuff, so I just set up a Mii dedicated to eShop purchases (and I do all of my purchases on that account)

Excuse my rudeness earlier. I was stressed out at this one guy who kept patronizing me. Miiverse is way too strict. Someone got a post removed for saying YOLO.

I am a little confused. His name was inappropriate, yet all of his content was tied to his ID. They warned him, but he did not change his ID. His ID vanishes, along with his content and data? If this is so, then, why not:

 

Simply change his name to something generic, like WII U 367543. Send a message stating how he can change his name. Let his name get screened (after all, his first was inappropriate), and everyone wins. 

 

Am I missing something?

OK, so it cannot change, period. I see. 

 

That needs to be amended. For the sake of discussion, lets say someone calls themselves 'DaBlackPanthaFo20', and it is deemed inappropriate. I understand losing the name, but your purchased content? THAT is asinine.

Yeah the only way to keep your purchase is to use a different account and set the old account to maximum privacy.
