PS3 Help...I think I need to return it.

Well, I get home, and open it, and it takes me a good...20-30 minutes to even get the thing to show any picture (and not freeze after 10 seconds), so after that I start playing Infamous 2. Now, I play that for a good 5 hours with NO problems whatsoever. No lag, freezing, sound problems, nothing. I'm in the middle of a cutscene, then it freezes up. Now I can't get any sort of picture out of the thing, and I've used three different cords (HDMI, and the two RCA cords I had) in three different places (The HDMI cable port in the TV, the RCA port in the TV, and the RCA port in the DVR) and I haven't gotten anything to work for the past...hour. I don't think it needs to be sent in, as much as updated, but I can't update it if I can't see the screen. Dx I've tried this method: http://us.playstatio...x.htm?a_id=1036 (entering safe mode, and updating from a flash drive) but I can't even see the screen...but everything turns on just fine. :/ HELP ME! Dx<

I know my Wii isn't compatible (for whatever crap reason) with the TV downstairs.

Try using another TV.

Really? o_O Maybe tomorrow I'll try it on my parents' TV, and see if I can't update it from there...and if not, I'll try the basement TV. I think that this problem would go away, provided I just do a system update...(it's like, version 3.01, and the current version is...3.70. o_o;) Of course, I'll have to do this tomorrow...as it's kinda late where I am....although, I think I could try the PS3 in the basement right now. I'll try that.
Aaaaand, it didn't work with the RCA cables in the basement, hooked up to the DVR (and yes, I was on the right channel/input/etc)

Are the cables you are using official ones?
Well, the RCA cords are. The HDMI one is...a Monster Game cord that says it's "engineered for the Playstation 2" but it was working just fine yesterday.
EDIT: I also just tried it on my parents TV, no luck.

Either send in to Sony for repairs, or replace it, if you still got you're receipt.
Well, I bought it just yesterday, so that shouldn't be a problem. I think that's just what I'm going to have to do.

ps2 has hdmi??
It does, but I think the highest it can go is 720p.
Well, I couldn't figure it out...so I took the PS3 back to the store, exchanged it, and I got one that works perfectly.

I just looked at the back of my PS2, and I didn't see anything that looked like a hdmi port.
