I don't know why.. but the Gamecube version of the sky looks better, the wii u one is more detailed but fair too light blue imo..

I'll be getting it but have to say I'm a bit disapointed in the difference. The gamecube version still looks amazing and the wii u version looks only marginally more amazing.

 

There was even a graphic effect of the water being parted at the front of the ship on gamecube not present on wii u. No doubt this will be added back in later.

 

A must have game for me.

Lighting seems a bit over the top.

It's not a good way to compare the two, cramming them into tiny lo-res boxes like that (and stretching the GC version to an unnatural 16:9 format).

 

 

 

The following video is a better comparison, as it keep the GC's aspect ratio AND seems to be from a 480i source, which is how almost every Gamecube owner would have originally experienced it.

 

 

The real difference will be even bigger, since the HD version runs in 1080p at constant 60fps (GC version was 30fps). A real side-by-side comparison video would need to have the Wii U version take up the whole screen, and the GC version in a little 640x480 box in a corner.

 

All that, PLUS the improved textures and lighting, make for a HUGE difference. Come on, the GC version looks okay, but the Wii U version looks like a freaking Miyazaki Hayao film in 3D.
