I dont know why, but seems like Nintendo wanted to 'play it safe' this year. Nothing too drastic.

Pokemon Rumble U uses NFC.

It's released... in Japan.

NFC is just a massive cash-in anyway, who cares?

I would love to see dual gamepad though.

I would love duel pad support and 6 player local for MK8! Maybe even some team online support, we go as a team online and race other teams/players all from one Wii U and 2 pads and 4 Wii remotes/Pro controllers :)

The NFC feature could become an interesting component if implemented. I have high hopes for multipad support as well.

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect :)

Right, i don't think this was ever a promise made by Nintendo. I think they will release dual gamepad support down the road, maybe next e3. Do it in same vein as the wii motion plus reveal. But you don't want to confuse customers this early on into the consoles life, the only people really wanting dual gamepad support is current Wii U owners.

I would expect of course, bundles gamepads/ and game and possibly bundled systems with two gamepads to come, but this system currently is still too new to offer all of this. Give it time.

Especially for Pikman 3. Get special pikma by buying cards, or Pokemon same idea.

Did someone promised it at Nintendo? I really don`t remember.

Unfortunately we have to face Nintendo`s new strategy of only revealing things piece by piece.

They have more to announce, they just choose to use the NDs for that.

That's what I would think. Or Disney Infinity. The system was made for those.

Yeah I forgot about that. But still, no dual-gamepads? People have been asking for this for a pretty long time... It feels like Nintendo is holding more up their sleeves, because this year's E3 wasn't exactly surprising... good, but expectable.

Also, still no new IP from Miyamoto. I guess he's a busy man..

I honestly don't see why people are so keen to have dual gamepad support, it's just another $100 added to the cost and half's the frame rate supposably.

Not supposedly. Its confirmed.

Though it doesnt affect the tv images frame rate, it just halves the gamepad bandwidth.

Nope, it's still using the regular plastic portal add on to use with the figures. Considering the figure has to be on the portal at all times, it wouldn't work well with the Gamepad (as the device constantly saves the data for the figure during gameplay). Plus, considering how much the Skylanders starter packs cost. I doubt they'd stop including the portals for the Wii U versions, they'd lose some potential profit. Same goes for Disney Infinity.

As for the dual Gamepad support, I really want it just so 6 player local multiplayer in games can be possible. But I'd love to see some unique ideas for the dual Gamepad support.

They don't though, they come with their own bases.

Here's the thing.  Nintendo obviously held back on a lot of things at e3, because their mission going in, along with alternate plans based on what Sony and MS were doing, was to show gameplay.  Not bullshots, not pure CG reels, not conceptual stuff.  Just gameplay.  That is what they did.  They showed us every game that they have that they were comfortable showing a lot of gameplay, and games that they were comfortable with being played on the showfloor.  The only game that wasn't on the show floor was X.

There was no Yarn Yoshi, no SMTxFE, no talk of updates, no talk of hardware, no talk of gamepad, none of that.  They said it was all about the games, and they told the truth 100%.
