Grimdark = Stories that involve death, famine, plagues etc.
I don't read many but i have read one which was quite good.

I will say that the weird side of the fandom (Cupcakes and stuff like that) is pretty easy to stumble upon. Most of the fandom seems to hate it but they talk about it so much that it never disappears.
