This has been bothering me, because apparently the Wii U upscales Wii games well.

 

Whenever I switch to Wii Mode, everything turns red (as if I had a couple loose component cables), yet everything is HDMI! If I go into Wii U setting and switch to 480p first it's fine, but if it's in 1080i (my tv can't do 1080p) then everything's all red. t looks kind of like this:

Help? thanks. it's annoying to have to switch that before playing a Wii game.

Bizarre, have you tried messing with the color settings on your TV? If not, maybe try the Wii's composite or another HDMI cables and see if it then looks correct. Failure of the the first two should probably warrant a repair from Nintendo.

I can try fiddling with the cables, but I won't get audio otherwise (as my hdmi splitter splits off the audio channel to my receiver).

 

I don't want to go through the hassle of shipping in my Wii U... Nothing else is buggy, except for the space track in Sonic Racing. I might take this up with Nintendo though, hopefully it's a known issue and a patch is coming.

 

 

Has anyone else had this problem? Can you all try booting into Wii mode and seeing if you get this problem?

You're just lucky! You got hold of the rarest model of Wii U: Virtual Boy U!
