So i have this nice Wii-U which been playing for a bit, and then i noticed it, a dreaded buzzing, its coming from the unit itself, and sounds near the Power Plug side, some times depending on the screen on the Controller it goes quiet, and then as the screen changes goes loud.

Tried the unit without it plugged into a tv and the sound is still there, so i am guessing its to do with power?

anybody have any ideas as i am gutted to say the least :-(

Judging by your title, did you buy it from someone? or was it new?

I am the foot. I do not like you. You smother me with socks and shoes, then step on me thousands of times a day.

either you bumped it or bought the Wii U like that, it shouldn't be making that noise. Unfortunitly i do not know any other way to fix it besides open the Wii U up and fix it.

lhKtSmX.png?2 Well, I've finally found my Starfox, and I love it.

Well, if there's no warranty anyway, I guess you could open it up. If you want.

Can't you just get the person you bought it off to send it in?

Sometimes its good to contact them  more than one time, if you ge tthe same  answer back multiple times, then  try to  contact the original owner (if possible)

I'm kinda surprised they were so picky.  I know when my 3DS scratched itself (due to the known defect) they didn't ask for a receipt as it was within 12 months of launch, but then that was Nintendo UK.

it seems to always depend on the oporator. Sometimes you can use the online system to send in a repair which does not use a proof system just the System ID

In my experience it does seem to depend on who you speak to.

90% of the time a buzz is a cap. Capacitors that is lose ongoing bad. I replace one on a tv before. It would get warm and buzz and then cool down and stop.

But if it was used then there is no telling. Could of been lock away some where and overheated or dirt got inside .
