The test to see if there's room for Yakuza on the Wii U may show a few stumbling blocks for the series on Nintendo's platform.

After releasing the HD remake on PS3 last year, SEGA decided to bring Yakuza 1 & 2 HD to the Wii U, complete with extra GamePad features. Despite the move, the game was a complete flop in its debut week on the market. According to Dengeki, the title flopped hard, missing on the top 50. This alone suggests that the game sold between zero and 2000 copies in its opening week.

Yakuza had previously been featured in a Nintendo Direct broadcast in Japan.

Oh this is simply abysmal sales.

That's pretty bad, even for a year old port.

Some people always have a cellphone on them. I'm so awesome I always have a 3DS.

Bombs and Japan just should not go together.

This was my first reaction to the thread title and the article uses "flops" instead of "bombs" like the OP did lol

The original Yakuza 1&2 HD for the PS3 wasn't released in the US either. I guess it's up to Nintendo to volunteer to localize it for Sega.
