Cancer causing chemical found in 98 shampoos and soaps

Tests ordered by an environmental watchdog group revealed the presence of a cancer-causing chemical in dozens of personal care products that lack a warning label required by California law.

The compound, a chemically modified form of coconut oil—cocamide diethanolamine (cocamide DEA)—is used as a foaming agent or thickener in soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and similar products.


CEH purchased these products after June 2013 from online and local California retailers, such as Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Kohl’s, and Babies R Us.

Not a surprise. Tons of chemicals are put into everything these days, skin care products, food, drinks. Its everywhere!

Exactly. This is just another one of those scaremongering stories where something people use everyday causes cancer.

I can very well accept reality. It would be nice though to have some positive every here and there. Reality has good and bad, not just bad. And I personally don't think you can accept reality at all. You talk about drugs (And don't say it's a joke). Drugs is something people use to make themselves happy, AKA, avoid bad reality. And with a username like that, I don't see where you are in a real world at all.
