Wayforward's new kickstarter game has ended up being Shantae: Half-Genie Hero and is releasing on Steam, Wii U, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4 platforms next fall, 2014.

 

 

An all-new HD adventure from WayForward: makers of Ducktales Remastered, Adventure Time, & Contra 4!

Over the last 23 years WayForward has developed more than 200 licensed titles, our most recent being Ducktales: Remastered. When circumstances permit, we also make weird and wonderful original games like Shantae and the Mighty Series. 

In all that time, fan letters, support emails and interviewers have made our most frequently asked question, “Why don't you guys make more original games?”  

Kickstarter allows us to do just that! With your help we can create a large-scale multi-console game that's well beyond our usual self-publishing budgets.

Enjoyed Shantae since the gbc game.
Wow this makes a lot of changes.


Faster, tighter, gameplay, solves my only real niggle with the series gameplay. Likely became practical with the bigger screen area.

New design style is greeaaaaatttlly appreciated.

This is a much stronger looking character, and it even shows through in the in game animation.

Yeah, not only do I like the series, this, in this two minute teaser, seems to pimp slap all of my little qualms with the series.

Though, you are aware that thats just the physical copy of the game boy color Shantae right?
