I know as much as you do about all those supposedly leaked photos of the Wii 2 (attached to this post). So, let's talk it out: do you think they're real or not, and why?

Hmmm, I'm going to go with real. I was sceptical at first, and still am a bit, but these leaked images all seem to corroborate, so I think that the console will look something like these images, if not exact. I know that some people have been making strong arguments for these being fake, but it's possible that these are simply models of the console, instead of the actual thing itself. The most recent one (the white one) looks reasonably different from the Wii, but looks like an evolved version, similar to the Playstation 2 and Playstation 3. Still we won't find out until E3, and even then we may not find out. If these are SDKs it's possible that the final design will look very different, as SDKs aren't generally designed to look amazing.

I'm going for real. I honestly like the general look of the design, and if the final version looks a lot cleaner (And a bit bigger) than that would just be awesome!

One of the major points to chew on... We have yet to find any other potential picture leaks... If these are fake, why haven't any other pictures popped up?

Plus I don't want my Schrödinger's cat speech in the other topic to have been for nothing :P

The lighting in the 1st pic and the writing in the 2nd pic look fake IMO.

1st pic: Either the top of the console should be darker or the floor behind the console should be lighter. This whole pic looks like it was rendered in a 3D modeling program.
2nd pic: The pic was taken at an angle, but the writing appears to be almost straight. See my pic for a better visualization.

Well, other forums I've been on deemed them fake (NeoGAF for example).
I'm sure those are fake. Wouldn't be surprised if the real system looks totally different.

Every last leaked photo is fake. The Nintendo logo was wrong of the first few leaked images and many of the others have obvious features that give them away as being fake. Manufacturing of this console only recently started leaked photos should be of the developer kit not prototypes, which would be secretly held at Nintendo. If any of you have ever seen a photo of a early Nintendo dev kit you'll understand that usually these devices are very crude. The early DS dev kits where made out of two butchered GBA's with a Super Nintendo controller. The current Nintendo Cafe/Stream dev kits are likely butchered PC's.

Edit: I believe I've already stated this somewhere on this blog, but anyway these fake photo leaks are created using a Windows 7 software box with fake connections. They could even used photoshop to create the majority of image. They are fake and not worth noting Nintendo would be on these rumors quicker than flies to garbage would an actual photo leak.

I must Agree with you, my only Question on this current unit is Where is the Media slot?

Games that refuse to use Gameplay effectively to do anything are like films that refuse to use cinematography in film to do anything.

By the looks of the leak, it looks like they went back to the GameCube disc size, and they discontinued GameCube controllers... :P

So i can say i hope these are fake.

If you read my last post about the leaks (the one in which I leaked an image myself), you'd know that these are supposed to be pictures of a developer unit with no working disc drive. So that slot you see isn't really a slot for anything.

They're not real Feld0. You shouldn't get your hopes up regarding images from a console that has only recently been in production, or potentially isn't in production yet. If you've ever seen an early Nintendo dev kit you'd understand that these devices don't fit the bill. Early dev kits are crudely built devices in the case of Cafe we're likely talking about a butchered PC.

You never know. Remember the iPhone 4 leak? Everyone thought that was fake. Look at how wrong they were.
