How can this game possibly be better than SMG1/2? The leveldesign etc. looks amazing, but with it being (apparantly) such a short game (and it looks way easier than SMG2 too), I really don't see it being better than a solid 8... oh well, I still really want this game.

 

Did you get a chance to watch the review? He sums up things pretty well on why it's pure gold.

I was buying this game as a must have anyway, the review score is simply the icing on the cake.

But apparently it got a 9.6/10. That's one point more than 3D land.

 

Is that supposed to give this game some great credibility?

 

I have no doubt it's probably a better game than 3D Land. However, 3D Land was naturally held to lower standards since it was a handheld game. It delivered upon what it was expected to.

 

Either way, I couldn't care less about IGN's opinions. Super Mario 3D World looks like renting material and nothing more.

I'm more excited for this game than any Mario ever I'm pretty sure. I just hope it has lots of content. Like how Mario Galaxy had you go back through levels for different stars. Anyone comment on that? I don't want to read too much or watch videos, it spoils it for me.

Wow, you must be a real audiophile.  I bet you're, like, totally sophisticated.  Can't subject your ears to that crap.  Man, impressive.  I bet there are so many ridiculously crappy things in life that are just nowhere near good enough for your refined tastes

I pretty sure you're joking, but still wanted to say that a lot of audiophiles like electronic music, and would take it over orchestral any day. I dunno what you call someone who will only listen to orchestrated soundtracks :/

Kidding! Though there is a lot of good music that isn't orchestra. Even the original 8-bit Zelda and Mario music is nice to listen to.

SM3DW should be worth the $65 I'm scrounging up for it. If 3D Land is anything to go by, I'll probably play it through the first run, maybe stop for a while on the special, but always come back to it. I'm not worried with the extra content, but it sure as hell better be worth the gray hairs I'm getting just trying to get the money for this game.

Apparently it has about 15 hours of gameplay and the same extra 8 worlds thing that 3D Land did.
