Ok i am a bit unsure of the etiquette here, should i stop enjoying mario because it was outsold by another game, or i should still enjoying mario even though it was outsold by another game, please internet, tell me how to think and feel. lol

You should enjoy mario while you can, whilst looking on in horror how mindlessly your pavlovianly conditioned peers throw money at a pile of garbage with game design that was bad back in the n64 day, Whilst completely ignoring a far, far, FAR better game, as you realize their actions are shaping the future.

Well.....

I'm not gonna lie, I think Nintendo should just give up on the UK. Cut their losses and just not bother with the country anymore. They'd obviously rather play a (reportedly) mediocre game on a Sony system rather than a (reportedly) good game on a Nintendo system.

I think that with a bit of time not only will the wii-u start to produce on a more regular basis must have titles, but i think microtransaction could we be the straw that breaks the gamers back for a lot, i know personally for me this gen it's wii-u and pc easy, i have no intrest in supporting the big two when they think MT in a 55 quid games is acceptable, and i think in time a lot more come to feel the same way.

They'd want to throw that region lock rainbow out of the way if they even consider that.

Typical English. No taste, they would rather play Cod and Knack.

I have to give COD some credit they have good gameplay even if they haven't changed the formula since idk 5 years is way better than freaking Knack.

Don't be bashing everyone in the UK too hard ;) My Mario 3d World arrived today for "The worst gift this holiday season" Sadly I am giving it to my kids for Xmas so no playing that one yet. The Wii U is my favourite console ever, I have not played the PS3 once since I got it and I was playing athe Vita the other day and got bored. I just beat SMB U today and will be looking at the Star Road later on. It is lack of marketing that has prevented this system selling over here IMO no-one seems to have a clue what a Wii U is. My friend with a Wii who has just got a PS4 didn't even know Nintendo had released a new console. I really hope they can turn things around, I did see a Mario 3d world advert today on a kids channel earlier.

Lack of marketing may be a contributor to lacklustre sales but its by no means the major reason. Its far more to do with a lack of compelling games especially third party as well as the fact that the hardware, UI and online features/functionality are underwhelming. The only thing my Wii U will be used for is the first party and odd third party exclusive games. Everything else I will buy for either my PS4 or Xbox One.

I suspect it'll be the same for a lot of people. I just got Assassins Creed for Xbox One. There's no point buying a lower quality version is there?

I still love the Wii U, just as I loved my GameCube and I mostly bought Nintendo stuff that. At the end of the day we shouldn't worry about any of this stuff, just enjoy the games that come to the system.

I've always been a multi platform gamer as that gives me the most options regards what games I play on what platform. The unfortunate thing is finding the time to play all the quality games on all those platforms. The nice thing is I can play any game I want as long as its not PC only as I don't own a PC but have a Mac.

I don't have a good enough PC, so I still got the best version I could actually play.
I would have got the Wii U version if I didn't have the Xbox but I'm not going to get a graphically weaker game when I can get a better one for a different console that I own.

Same as you with the PC.

This also illustrates why it was insanity to delay Rayman Legends. If you have a captive audience just looking for any good game to buy you can make a killing.

The retailing of the Wii U in the UK is poor. If you look in any supermarket the Wii U games are mixed in with old Wii titles and you're lucky if there's one console boxed set on display. Couple that with relatively little advertising and it not a big surprise it's been a damp squib here.

However I'm optimistic. It's a great console and as more games come out and more people buy it or see it in action it will drive more sales. Also as it's at least £200 cheaper than an Xbone bundle…
