hey people, theres this awesome youtube channel called ECCwii, im not trying to advertise it, just giving it credit for the idea im about to present.
we all know the wii u's name hasnt been well recieved, but as reggie made clear at the conference, the letter U is open to interpretation, so why dont we as a community decide what that letter stands for. the guy who runs ECCwii always refers to the wii u as the wii ultra, and i think its a great name. so why dont we start using that when talking about the new console so that hopefully it can eventually become the new name by the time its released.

nice all good U is an awesome letter, look at how many names you've come up with so fast we should maybe have a vote involving everyone in the forum i must say i still like ultra best since its short and easy to say but we should see what everyone else thinks

Perfect! If it were up to me, I would name the console TouchZone or Real Gaming or something original instead of just Wii U, a really weird name if you ask me.

shall we make this official then? you guys are the experts at this forum (after looking at your post count) do you think we should do a multiple choice question and see which answer gets the most votes, then start calling the new console that all the time? if you think its a good idea, then i have no clue how to set that up so one of you guys could do it

oh thats a good idea i like it but i think it would be impossible to change the name to that just as a bunch of fans. something like deciding what the U should stand for after word wii is very doable. we just all decide on something, keep keep calling it that and see what happens.

I remember when it was speculated on David's blog, that it may just end up being called 'Nintendo' and that sounded okay for me..considering that I hadn't seen the unveiling of it at E3, just was nice to imagine it was purely and simply one powerful loads of awesumz! The name Wii U isn't necessarily a great name, but I do find it kind of fun. U rhymes with two so it's kind of like their calling it Wii 2 but in a more Nintendo like fashion.
