The data is not the most accurate, but if it's not exact, I'd say is pretty close in terms of the ratio.  Looks like Wii U outsold Xbox One last week, and I highly doubt Xbox One not being available in Japan had any effect.  On top of that, it hit 5 million according to VG Chartz.  I feel that obviously these sales are due to the holiday season, but will sustain themselves to some degree due to finally having some decent titles out.  I've also noticed a change in opinion amongst my friends as well going from the select people who mocked and criticized it to acknowledging that it will be an eventual purchase.  Wii U's drought is over and hopefully the days of weekly 4 figure sales as well.

Just wanted to share some of the good news and keep the spirits high.  What are your thoughts?

To be honest if WiiU sales do go up and stay up, I still don't see 3rd parties supporting it. :l

Other wise this is good news :)

It wouldn't surprise me if the Xbox One becomes the third best selling console out of the eighth-generation simply due to its price, the whole DRM fiasco and the fact that many people were annoyed that Kinect was made a mandatory item for the Xbox One.

The Wii U with its cheap price point, its family-orientated marketing message and its first and second party titles will see its fortunes change as drastically as the 3DS's fortunes changed.
