This one is really bad, but from a point of the dev very understandable if true. I can't see why he would lie... :(

Some quotes:

"We will make games for all platforms where we can self-publish." When a follower asked if this included Wii U, Ward replied: "Probably not to be honest, but never say never."

"Totally wrong," Ward replied. "I did [support Wii U]. Second, I complained when the company didn't even bother to press the discs with our game on."

He continued: "Hey, we worked our arses off. Neither Nintendo or EA gave a carp about it. A group of us did try. Daisy and moan at the publishers, not the developers.

"We just did the coding. Like we had any choice over when it was released? Or the price? Everyone is so quick to blame the developers. Folks worked through New Year to deliver that. We tried to do our best.

"We even flew to Nintendo to personally demo in a bid for marketing support. There was none. The game was not even physically released initially in Europe. Members of the team could not even buy their own game. Do you think we were happy about that?

Being an EA game.....I very much believe that it's why Nintendo did not want to cooperate. I think their relation (nintendo-EA) is non-existent.

To be fair to Nintendo, I'm not sure why it's their job to market a game simply because it came to their platform. I can see why he'd be upset at EA, but not Nintendo in this case. :/

As for the printing of the disks, isn't that funded by the publisher and put out to a 3rd party disk manufacturer to do? (I'm actually asking this, that's the way I thought this worked)

Pretty much. Devs are always whining about something. Don't like your publisher? Quit and go indie. Why any developer would ever want to do anything involving EA is beyond me.

I agree with most of what has been said. A dev has a publisher and the publishers have marketing teams. SImple as that. It's not like Nintendo completely ignored NFSMW U. They did give it time in a ND.

Printing of discs, distribution is all handled by a facet of the marketing team.

saw this on gaf.

people were insulting the devs on one of the few solid/semi-solid ports. When in reality EA was at much larger fault.

i don't get why he would bash nintendo more than EA. Shouldn't he understand why Nintendo wouldn't want to put money behind the game if he actually works in the business?

I actually recall talking about this exact subject earlier in another thread.

I think those people dont understand the difference between developers and the publishing houses they are woefully, sometimes unwillingly (ALWAYS in the case of EA) attached to, and hopefully, when presented with this knowledge, will direct their expressions accordingly.
