The Sony PlayStation 4 to receive a hefty price increase in Canada.

Another shocking move from Sony, trying desperately to keep afloat by destroying customer relations, yet keeping their marketing staff on to limit damages via hype.

Look kids! Another Nollog article that bashes Sony for something that isn't their fault and all the other competitors are doing too!

 

Again, it's not just the PS4 that's raising in price. Pretty much all video game-related items in Canada are jumping in price due to the value of the Canadian dollar dropping.

It appears in recent months, the standard price for most new games has risen across all platforms in Canada.

It's a business choice. Any business loosing money asks can we charge more? The answer is yes for Sony.
And it appears retailers are doing the same thing. Again, a business choice.

So Nintendo are yet again the only company willing to not screw over customers?

 

Actually, Layton and the Azran Legacy is like $50 over there now, so...yeah. That's what my friends have told me, at least.

Retailers are most likely in charge of the prices they charge, Sony seem to be forcing this increase to improve their ledgers however.

Eh, depends on the game, really. Very few 3DS/Vita games go for $50 normally...the only ones I can think of for the 3DS that usually go for $50 or more are all special/collectors editions, and the Vita had...CoD: Black Ops Declassified and...maybe Uncharted: Golden Abyss? But those've dropped in price since then. Standard Vita/3DS game price is usually $40, and I believe Azran Legacy had $29.99 preorders on Amazon for...like, 9 months. :I

Enjoyed every Sony system I ever owned. Enjoyed Every Nintendo system I ever owned..even Gamecube my least fave Nintendo system. Enjoyed Every SEGA System and other systems like TG16. MS...ugh. I have them for some games but XBO might be the first MS system I don't get unless it has something I find it worth owning it for and so far nothing and nothing on the horizon. Even if it did price needs to come down by half.

 

Sony also has great handhelds even if they don;t sell as well as Nintendo's. So I like Sony in gaming. MS..nope they offer nothing. I don't get Sony hate but MS is well deserved. Not that Sony or Nintendo don't have faults

Yeah I first noticed it with Lightning returns which is $65 from the standand $59. New 3DS games/ Vita games are now $45 from $39. Ground Zeroes went from $30 to $35 on all Versions. Mario Kart 8 is now $65 now. So it is gaming as a whole in Canada not just Sony.
